- A ruthless second-half display from Argentina crushed Georgia's hopes of causing another Rugby World Cup upset as the Pumas claimed a 54-9 win in the sides' Pool C contest at Kingsholm on Friday.
The underdogs, who beat Tonga in their opening match, maintained hopes of springing another surprise when three penalties from fly-half Merab Kvirikashvi restricted Argentina's lead to 14-9 at half-time.
But the South Americans, for whom Tomas Lavanini scored the first-half's only try, added three more touchdowns within 13 minutes of the restart to secure a bonus point.
Tomas Cubelli notched his side's second try in the right corner, before Juan Imhoff finished off a flowing attack and Santiago Cordero (pictured) showed great pace to cap another fine move.
The Pumas increased their lead in the closing stages, with Martin Landajo diving over for his fourth international try before Imhoff and Cordero grabbed their second scores of the match.

That winger is outstanding..Argentina have come such a long way with the development of their Rugby. I'd be very worried for the teams that have to face them in the quarters and semi's. Go Argentina!!

Argentina is simply stronger than any 6N teams.
This was the worst day for Georgia but when i saw how Argentina played against Ireland and other teams i become calm.
They are 4th best team in the world!
And Pumas are usually playing against tier 2 not like 6n or RC teams.

Johnny Sexton(playmaker), Paul O'Connell(captain), Sean O'Brien(best ball carrier), Peter O'Mahony(lineout operator) and Jared Payne(solid defense). It would be like Georgia being without Gorgodze and 4 other big players in their important match against Tonga. Plus Wales and Scotland had closer losses against South Africa and Australia than Argentina did.

Also argentina beat namibia and tsonga by a bigger margin than the AB. You can't compare based only in results.

Si ya lo sé! Nose porque pero no me gusta el término! Es algo parecido a lo que sienten los canadienses cuando le dicen "norteamericano" sólo eso.. Igual nunca entendí el porque de la división norteamerica/ centroamerica/ sudamerica, esta bien que nuestro continente es enorme pero somos todos "americanos"! Mambos míos! ;)
