I see everyone around me starting to enter their first romantic relationship so easily and they look so happy. It makes me feel like a screw-up and jealous that it never went like that for me. My cousin was caught texting their ex and my friend found out and was frustrated and depressed. God, he even told me that he might harm himself, maybe worse. I didn't want anything horrible to suddenly happen. So I got involved personally and forced them to talk and reason with each other. I honestly thought I fucked up their relationship for good when I got them to talk. but amazingly, it worked out positively, and now they love each other even more than before. Thank god. I started to see Alex around school a lot more now and I try to talk to her now and then. I still love her like the horrible person I am. I do want to talk with her and restart our relationship but I have no clue if she still even has feelings for me, let alone my fear of me doing the same thing again and harming our relationship even more. But recently, I heard news from my cousin that Alex had started liking another person. My heart just shattered hearing that. I cried for an entire night, which didn't help my sleep schedule. Just hearing this reassures me that things won't go back to the way it was. I don't even know what to do these days anymore. I can't focus on school, I barely hang with my friends anymore so they don't see how fucked up I am, and I see everyone around me entering happy relationships with me just sitting there. I barely have any motivation or sleep. I try to look at the better things in life and spend time with those I love. It helps, but I always have a pain in the back of my head when I'm in a good mood for too long. Now I try to focus on school and to smile and have a good time with others. I've been in your shoes. This may seem harsh but nobody is going to suddenly come into your life and make things alright. Don't make the mistake of using another person to try to fix your problems.
You have to learn to love yourself for yourself. It takes time and patience, it's important to keep your mind set on growth and understand that the pain is temporary, that you can overcome it all on your own. You have to have faith in yourself and let go of the past.
If you can do that, finding love won't be a problem at all. People are attracted to others who love themselves.

I like to listen to this song to remind me we when I was a kid who liked another person who liked me back but we didn't admit it even though we knew each other so much. (We can call her Alex.) We both even accidentally confessed at the same time around 4th grade. She was the light of my life at the time and we loved each other so much we held hands very often during elementary. But once middle school began. She started to talk to other guys. Guys I was jealous of and I was pretty insecure already myself. I kept seeing her talk to them and it made me jealous and angry. I threw a fit and made a decision I still regret to this very day. I ghosted her. I stopped talking to her completely like I was the victim. I didn't know how she felt about me ghosting her since I cut all contact and ignored her through school. All because of my jealousy and insecurities. I ruined my relationship with the person I loved the most. I don't even know why I didn't talk to her about it. I am such a failure.
Currently today, I am on okay terms with Alex. I recently just broke up and cut ties with a different girl. (We can call her Kaylee) I honestly did love Kaylee but as time passed by she showed little interest in me and she fizzled out. I never even heard her say "I love you" to me back. I didn't trust myself with romantic relationships anymore after that. I see everyone around me starting to enter their first romantic relationship so easily and they look so happy. It makes me feel like a screw-up and jealous that it never went like that for me. But at the same time I never, NEVER, want what happened to me to happen their their relationship. God, I even stopped one from breaking up. It was between a friend of mine and my cousin. My cousin was caught texting their ex and my friend found out and was frustrated and depressed. God, he even told me that he might harm himself, maybe worse. I didn't want anything horrible to suddenly happen. So I got involved personally and forced them to talk and reason with each other. I honestly thought I fucked up their relationship for good when I got them to talk. but amazingly, it worked out positively, and now they love each other even more than before. Thank god.
I started to see Alex around school a lot more now and I try to talk to her now and then. I still love her like the horrible person I am. I do want to talk with her and restart our relationship but I have no clue if she still even has feelings for me, let alone my fear of me doing the same thing again and harming our relationship even more. But recently, I heard news from my cousin that Alex had started liking another person. My heart just shattered hearing that. I cried for an entire night, which didn't help my sleep schedule. Just hearing this reassures me that things won't go back to the way it was. I don't even know what to do these days anymore. I can't focus on school, I barely hang with my friends anymore so they don't see how fucked up I am, and I see everyone around me entering happy relationships with me just sitting there. I barely have any motivation or sleep. I try to look at the better things in life and spend time with those I love. It helps, but I always have a pain in the back of my head when I'm in a good mood for too long. Now I try to focus on school and to smile and have a good time with others. Even though that when every time it hurts, I know it's my fault. My hands feel so cold without her. If you did read this entire essay of me venting, thank you. It means a lot to me that someone out there I don't know just knows my feelings so that those I know don't waste their time worrying about me. I thank you once more for that. -TheSpriteMan
