48 years old and just started skating because of this channel. I absolutely suck, but damn it’s fun learning. Just leaned a shove it yesterday and was so pumped. This channel is so fun to watch with Dan and all his crew. Keep dropping videos and we will all keep watching the epic skating and light heartedness of the channel. Thanks Dan.
Hell yea ! I got into it last year, its so fun. You should film yourself and put on yt bro! I noticed you got a channel with stuff on it. Would be cool to chart the journey. I wish I could skate more. An hour a week is all my weak ass legs can handle. =[ I could do a few tricks for fun tho, but man my legs just get so damn sore.
@@pheinted6386don’t get discouraged. I’m only 28 and can only really skate for an hour or 2, every 3 days. If I try to skate more than that I’m just not recovered properly. I hate skating even with minor injuries or sore legs
@@pheinted6386I am 19 and i just gotta say it doesn’t matter how long you can skate, the fact that you are skating and trying to work on shit you love is so awesome and inspirational! Keep it up skaters like you are the reason I love it so much
I own a old book from 1990 called Streetstyle Skateboard Book from the author Guenther Mokulys which is teaching the basics of what he does. I like the word streetstyle because it is like a fusion of street skating and freestyle and I think it comes from that period where freestyle was overtaken by street/park skating. I like to see the creativity comes back and it is not anymore the "no foot on the ground" and "no hands" community it was the last 20+ years.
Yea he definitely has his own style.. we may never see anyone skate like this ever again.. it does it looks really good too.. he looks very comfortable and I guess you would say stylish doing it.. it is pretty satisfying
It's nice to see original skateboarding every once in a while. You got the creative gift yourself Dan, but this opener dude is even more surprising than Andy sometimes.
Its like old school bowl skating hits the street but with a whole new way of approaching it. This makes me realize why skateboarding outlasted many skate sports in the 90s.
It's like a mix of Rodney Mullen's old early grab flip tricks and Rowan Zorilla's loose and improvisational style, I have no idea what's going on but I love it! Skater's love to think we have no rules but we all follow some of them to various degrees, this guy doesn't care about any of them, he changes direction in the middle of a trick, steps off, spins, puts a hand down you name it. I kind of wanted to hate it at first but I just can't, he seems rad as fuck.
Dudes a badass, forget the tech skaters bashing his style. Bashing him for his style and bag of tricks when a “normal” tech skater couldn’t land or perform any of the tricks he’s doing! And vice versa. It’s a style! Dude is still doing NEW creative shit on a board, it is what it is, he ain’t no slouch! That Margin Vegeta Grip tape though 👌🏼 that’s hard 😅 He doing real DBZ skating for real!
I've actually done these on steep hips, I consider it basically like an early grab nosegrab. Winkowski comes to mind, he does a lot of weird early grabby stuff, but shit is terrible for your back honestly. I hope dude is actually working out cuz he needs to if he wants to keep doing movements like that. I talked to Grosso once about why certain obscure grabs didn't catch on and he said it's simply cuz they aren't comfortable, and if it isn't that comfortable it can't be scaled up easily. Early grabs are not comfortable unless you're gumby or a small child. Lastly, I'm a 90's kid but I've learned through my time in skateboarding that everything was already done in the 80's. Everyone thinks they invented something, not trying to rain on anyone's parade but probably not lol. All I'm saying is to be cognizant of history, nobody is inventing anything here lol. Props to this kid for keepin' it weird but glory where glory is due.
Caroline gives me hope to boardslide a flat bar! I just learned them in August on curbs so still spooked to try a flat bar yet. But if it’s easier for her, might be easy for me too!
As someone that used to skate for most of my teen years and quit 15 years ago or so, I love this channel. I love skateboarding still, and the spots, sessions, playing around are the things i miss the most and watching a full production skate video doesn't scratch that itch like this does. I can watch these videos nonstop.
Whoever is responsible for the new coke ad that you can't skip, (the one with all the food sounds) I hope you stub your toe every morning.... I never want to be subjected to that again
This guy doing the reinvented ollie, its mesmerising, he should be sponsored or have his own youtube channel to get this awesome skating out there. He reminds me of when I first started and I just felt confident enough to just treat the board like an extension of myself. At that stage I actually broke a family board in one day, the first day I skated it ( its ok they didn't mind ) from just doing boneless to boardslide/grind, boneless shove-it finger flips down stairs. Nothing like how good this guy does it, its just a different style, its sick.
The way he pops his board is very reminiscent of the way Filipe Nunes (skater with no legs check him out he’s rad) pops and flips his board and it’s a pretty interesting approach, all for it
I love those front side half cab nose mannies, esp how they look when u pop them out off the end. I guess they pop out like they do because of your body position from the 180 when riding the manual. but they look sick when you do them ❤
So his "ollie" is the principle of a rolling fingerflip (freestyle trick). so basically grab your nose, go to tailstop and jump from there but all really quickly and the hand makes it level out like with an ollie. I think he could even jump higher that way (I ask myself why I haven't seen any freestyler doing that over obstacles)
I mean the rolling fingerflip has been around for a while now... and there are gnarly flip variations but noone can do them high. (Grip thumb ls preventable with duct tape or a glove, like he does)
Dudes rips! Find him street spots. A street part from this dude would be amazing. He needs someone like Dan to call shit out for him and find him spots. So sick
what is the guys name with the red glove? Seen him a couple of times now and wasn't sure at first but now I think he's pretty rad. You just have to appreciate people like that who refuse to submit to society's rules bro, we live in a society. You really need to start listing who is in your videos more often i think
im insanely curious how he actually does it, ive been following him for a pretty long time and i tried to do a pregrab ollie many times but it just does not work at all
The Dan we have is PERFECT! Dan speaks to the rest of us. Skating for fun. Ben taught us what to buy and avoid. Dan taught us how to find the enjoyment again in our craft.
This is straight up apeing, it's pretty hot sh*t. Like, I am totally into the one hand to guide stuff but I mean, this dude needs like, the LA river or something... Like big deep canal... the risk too, you know? Like, it's just, all the way down...
For starters i also Ollie, but i do alot of stuff like this as well; the early nose grab ollie deal i call the scooby-doo 😅 , i also got some really fun street fast plants without the grab like Louie up the stairs in his bag o' suck part, but turnt way up to grabless fasties to hubba tricks and what not😂 so fun, i call those faux-complys.
Only other person I've seen doing this early nosegrab ollie you really have to center over the front foot start your jump then split second later pop your tail like an ollie out of a manny the timing is everything if you start to press on the tail to early you push your board behind you pulling forward on the nose helps cancel that out he definitely has way more variations I only can flip it a few different ways
It’s sick because he honestly has style too, if he was flopping around like a fish and just had really shitty style it wouldn’t be nearly as cool I think
When I was a kid there was an older guy who skated kinda like this dude at my local skatepark. We called him Beanplant Joe. What’s this guys TH-cam, insta, etc?
Aaron is the Michael Jackson of skateboarding.
He honestly needs a sequin glove.
The King of No Pop.

This guy absolutely rules. Him & Jason have a great attitude to skating - do what you want and have fun - and as a result their style shines.
great comment💯

One small difference is Jason knows how to do his creative stuff and do regular tricks.

indeed
