    How can the electoral college be eliminated?

    • @coachtaewherbalife8817
      @coachtaewherbalife8817 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Requires an act of Congress. Not gonna happen.

    • @Zomby_Woof
      @Zomby_Woof 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Realistically, it can't.
      It would require Constitutional amendments, and since eliminating the EC would be an extinction level event for Republicans, it would have to be driven entirely by Democrats.
      That means 2/3 majority in the House and Senate.
      That's possible, but it would require Dems keep their eyes on the prize and be solidly middle of the road through several election cycles.
      Not giving in to Progressives who want to cash out political capital on short term goals, however laudable.
      And if it got over those hurdles, and achieved a 2/3 majority, would they still remember the goal, or would they feel like the Trump Humpers are no longer a threat - no need for an Amendment - Kumbaya?

    • @sandrakicklighter2735
      @sandrakicklighter2735 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Formally it would take passage of a new Constitutional Amendment. However, there is currently a workaround by various states that agree to have their electors selected by the winner of the national vote. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact

      The Senate contribution could be mitigated by doubling the size of the House. Not sure if it is politically feasible though. This would also help with gerrymandering since districts would be half the size.

    Al should do a video just about the situation in Israel similar to what Bernie Sanders just did. Al has credibility. Students protesting do know that there have been indiscriminate mass killings in Gaza by the Israeli military. A lot of new reports seem to focus on apparent chaos on university campuses and neglect the killings in Gaza which have triggered the majority of student protests.

    LOL…my guess is that it takes REAL discipline to get (mostly young) messaging staff to think like they’re running for mayor of some small town and NOT giving an oral argument defense of a thesis paper that they just submitted for the masters degree that they just got 18 months ago.
