Hey Makayla, I will be starting USC next semester and got assigned to live in Pardee. I was wondering if this is where your dorm is, so I can better understand the layout I will have in the room (loved your decoration haha). Also, is it really bad not having AC and using the communal bathroom? Not sure if I should stick to Pardee or try a reassignment to Parkside Suites.

I remember when I watched your move-in day and I just realized how time flies! I really felt it when you said you had mental breakdowns and struggled to make friends at first. My daughter and I saw you at the open house in April I think it was. We kept running into you. She’s an incoming freshman and we love your vlogs. I kept encouraging her to say hello. But she’s extremely shy. I was about to walk up to you because we were behind you a few times but my daughter literally ran and the second time she grabbed me. 😂🤦🏾♀️ (apparently I’m an embarrassing mom) so if you saw and or heard a black woman with her biracial daughter behind you and your parents debating about saying hello. That was us 😬😩🤷🏽♀️

That’s really sad that you felt not only uncomfortable on campus because of that old dude, but also because of those people talking behind your back about how cringe content creation is.
And I get that a lot of people don’t understand content creation, because it’s still the new kid on the block, but USC is such a creative school, but I guess people come from all different backgrounds. I feel like the general stereotype of influencers are that they are fake and all that, but at the end of the day you just gotta rise above it because at the end of the day you are making money off this. This is your job! And honestly, they’re probably just a little bit jealous.
Also, I’m saying that USC is a creative school even though I haven’t been there because I’m from Australia 😂

I just finished my sophomore year of college and I love that you talked about mental health. I had a friend who passed away this last semester and my professors were so helpful about assignments and tests when I was going through a rough patch. So if you going to college or in college talk to your professors they will ( most likely ) help you and there usually super understanding! I love the video, I've been watching your TH-cam videos for years, and it's crazy to think we both are so grown up now. congrats on finishing your freshman year! Sophomore year will go even faster, so be present and have a great next year!

Do you suggest going to college for film or screenwriting? I’m going to school for cosmetology first but I’m debating on going to college afterwards because I’m scared of being in debt and people say it’s not worth it for a film degree
I think a film degree is worth it. It depends on what you want to do honestly. Do you want to write? Direct? Both? Anyway, a lot of the directors I know have a film degree.

You would think that USC would be located in a more affluent area considering how expensive it is to attend there. UCLA is a state school where USC is not and UCLA is located in Westwood, Ca. which is close to Santa Monica and Beverly Hills and is more affordable to attend.UCLA is definitely located in a better part of Los Angeles in my opinion.
