  • Was at the thrift store and I saw this jar of broken watch parts. This thrift store usually doesn’t do this. I wanted to take a gamble

I usually don’t go threw the stapled bags of craft/costume jewelry, but after watching one of ur vids i ended up looking threw some at the Salvation Army, and I scored a really nice 21j Bulova ladies watch that works flawlessly, also got a couple sterling pendants, it was a good $3 spent lol

You will want to keep the French day of the week discs especially if you can identify the mechanism it is from. Watchmakers in Canada often gets their parts from the US and may inadvertently swap out the French disc for a Spanish disc, this happened to me and I wound up sourcing a French disc from Spain of all places to fix the problem. Of course part of the problem is that Seiko Canada, now the Canadian branch of Seiko Hong Kong only sells parts to one watchmaker in Toronto so all the other watchmakers orders Seiko parts from Seiko US or from China.
