Honestly thank you so much! I've been trying to move my files for ever and I watched a lot of videos but this was the only helpful one! There was just a slight difference for me maybe because of the update, when I pressed on copy I didn't have the menu bar. I simply had "copy here", so I was really confused, turns out you just have to go back and press on USB 1 and then press on "copy here".

Thank you sir, it was very easy and clear instructions. Only problem I had was removing the USB. After going settings I couldn't find USB and eject ⏏ button till I saw in my notifications it gave me the option to unmount the USB. So simple. Thanks

Having the same problem. Use ES File Explorer. It worked earlier. Somehow I turned it off. Not sure how to turn it back on. External flash drive not recognized by any apps now.
Is there a way to maintain or repair wear and tear to the plug in slots? I don't have any problems yet. But I'm worried about how long the slot will last for if the device is used everyday for office work, word processing, etc.
Once pics& videos are saved to that thumb drive, can the thumb drive be plugged back later into the phone to watch videos& pics if the phone videos & pics had been cleared of the phone's memory?

Moved, (not copied) picture and video files that I wanted to keep from a relative's Huawei Android phone (and files that she wanted removed to save space) onto a flash drive using the otg cable, and double checked while still attached that the files were actually on the flash drive. But when I got home and tried to view and transfer the flash drive files onto my Samsung tablet using the otg cable and Samsung files app, they're not there on the flash drive- and also show only a little bit of memory used on the flash drive, but not enough for all the pictures and videos I moved there. Is there some compatibility issue, or were these files lost?

I followed you up to camera in DCIM > camera. I chose a pic, but three dot is not available. Copy showed at bottom of window but when chosing copy I had no option to choose USB location. Help!

Yes they do jave them works for phones and other devices. You can also use a dongle to convert the port over sp a regular usb can work.

Hard to tell-try looking at the same areas with the same devices you used in the move and try reversing what you did. That might help

Yes you can but the time taken to do such as large transfer may be long due to speed of flash drive and device.

What if you have 2,000 pics. Do you have to click on every single one of them? 😭
There should be a select all option or check box.

You can also just select the entire folder
