We have a town in the interior named Galena. The stories there are especially scary. There’s a legend of woman on the lake. She walk around in the dark on water. I didn’t believe my friends when they told me, I asked an elder and they confirmed it. I drove on the ice in the winter on my hour wheeler (honda) i came to the end of the lake by a bridge. I saw what appeared to be a lanky tall woman. I turned on my high beams and without walking or visible movement, she was 5 feet closer to me than before. I backed up and turned around to drive away. I was driving fast. I turned around for a quick peak as I drove away and she appeared to be keeping up with me without actually moving. I had the bright idea to drive where there’s light because it was dark on the lake. I made it to the nearest street lights, I turned around and I guess it worked because she was gone. I drove home and told my parents what happened.. obviously, I’m never going on that lake again.
