John can't wait for that TMNT restore, now that's an arcade game along with Mortal Kombat that's from my generation and have many memories in the arcades of the nineties with, thanks man!!
Hi there. My dedicated Mortal Kombat 2 has the 25" Hantarex Polo in it from the factory. It seems to be a really good monitor and was the very first that I ever did a cap kit to. Before I did it everyone said they were some of the most fragile circuit boards to work on, but with my limited knowledge of capping a monitor at that time it went flawlessly and the chassis really puts out a nice picture!
FTW!!! Tmnt cabinet for sure . I have a 1989 original cabinet I play it every week so much fun. Also have turtles in time board and it swaps with no issue , except turtles in time is stereo so I only have that one speaker. Looking forward to seeing you bring back a classic
If you guys don't listen to The Killscreens you're missing out big time. It hasn't left my CD player rotation for like 4 years. And John, the music and editing in that Martha's Vineyard episode was really exceptional. Amazing job as always.
That's crazy, I just found a Double Axle in a private home and grabbed it last Saturday. Was in same shape as the one you saw pretty much (but fully working with a beautiful monitor).
Hey John! Power Drift is super fun! I used to play the sit down motion cab version @ Disneyworld when they used to have an actual arcade on Main St. So many fond memories of that game. $90!?! I'd be all over that!
Woah, so much cool stuff in there! Would have loved G-Loc, Virtua Racing and possibly Time Crisis (I already have one but it's got a lot of problems). I can't wait for the TMNT restore, that will be epic! Would be cool to do a Simpsons restore too ;)
Hey John 6:57 theres a chase h.q on the right...great game you should've picked up!! lovely cab too, the US cab is so much nicer than our UK cabs. I've actually got a US chase HQ
Hey, John! You SHOULD get that Power Drift, cause it is a really cool game!! :-) I played it every day back in 1991, they had it in the cafeteria at where I did my mandatory Army Duty here in Sweden (11 months). It was actually pretty hard in the beginning, but I was hell bent on mastering it, and I remember it was a great feeling of victory and achievement when I finally finished he game! :-)
Any suggestions for cleaning wire harnesses? I've gotten a couple games where the wiring is all ziptied in bundles, like usual, but it's filthy... I'd prefer to do it without removing the entire harness from the cabinet, but if i have to, I will. Thoughts?
Man, a full motion cab. You know, if I ever saw a Galaxy Force cab for sale I'd MAKE room for it. Those cabs are the best. John, you should visit Galloping Ghost again to do a review of it if they've fixed it since last.
The original Turtles was mono so it had a single center mounted speaker. Turtles in Time, Simpsons, Sunset Riders etc. were stereo and the cabinets have two speakers.
Good choice with the TMNT. I have a MAME cab which has a 2 player turtles decal. But it's slowly turning into a custom Overwatch cab purely cuz I love Overwatch.
John -- as an FYI, getting the glass cut isn't nearly as expensive as you are quoting. I recently got the glass replaced for my Golden Axe 2 and it was only 30 bucks. Since you're in the same area I am, I recommend you check out A-1 Glass. They turn things around fast and they perfectly cut my glass as needed.
Really? I didn't think it was that cheap. I have talked to tempered dudes before and it's way more expensive as the glass isn't just "cut". Either way, the glass I got was still cheaper. :)
Glad you got a deal then buddy. Maybe I'm wrong and mine isn't super tempered but it seems like sturdy glass to me and it matches the weight/feel of the glass that was in there prior.
darn, so you passed on the power drift?! :P but that super high impact should be sweet! can't wait to see that restoration to convert it to TMNT.... I do wonder, would it be possible to put in a switcher like you have on tetris/SF Alpha 2? then you could put in tmnt 2: turtles in time, or x-men, sunset riders.... there were a bunch of four player games that would totally work in that cabinet! The joystick/button colors do match up on what I'm seeing on KLOV, so I'd bet it was previously Crime FIghters like you said!
Pick up the pong clone! It will look nice next to your CS. Me and a couple of friends have one exactly like that in our collection. The monitor, which is actually an old TV, needs to be rebuilt but the board fires up in a test rig.
Hi! Maybe you can LED the Ghostbuster on the bottom, like a fancy car, maybe you can connect the LEDs to some connection inside so it will fade in an out, like a ghostly heart ^_^ (something like *H5KOx84wjso* but better neater)
@John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech hay john! why dont you try a diy ecto1 build? that would be fun, even if its just a battery moddel fitted inside, im sure you could manage that.. also loveing your music on soundcloud! its realy good! keep it up!
Don't feel bad about converting a crime fighters. My smash tv was an ultracade, that was a converted strike force.just need a Williams logo speaker grill to make it perfect. Same cabinet as STV
Was that a Uncle fester machine I seen next to the TV tennis? Oh wow been looking for that forever. They used to have a few here in Vegas. So awesome somone didnt wreck it out
Hi John. You should try one of those powder coating kits that they sell on ebay. Considering all the coins doors and metal parts that you restore, it might be worth it?
Also should be a sticker at the bottom part of the bezel. Not important but thought you should know. They were single color so you could probably even print it yourself.
I'm rewatching this video, cause i love Treasure Hunting videos like Warehouse raids, and see at about 8:08 in the video you pass a Crazy Kong marquee that looks in very good shape. Did you pick that up?
Every time I see a Neo Geo MVS just sitting at a warehouse, far away from me mind you, it pains me. I have been looking for one for quite some time, but have yet to come across one in my area.
Man... Wish there was a warehouse here that Gregg and us could raid for parts.. I still need a Medium Res monitor for my Sonic Championship and a cabinet/Monitor for my Darkstalkers..
I also just picked up converted crime fighters that I'm planning on converting to TMNT. I think it's a good idea but I I'm not 100% sure if the joysticks and button are the same spot because I havent checked yet.
Good idea for other restoration videos.. Bad idea when you run out of room to put video games, unless you get rid of more video games, or make the garage an arcade too...
Hi John, any chance you can do a special on the road at the "Insane Housecade" you'd reviewed in an on-the-road two years ago? It would be a great Halloween special IMO. I especially liked the owner who was constantly smoking darts throughout the review.
If you go back please try again to get that Sengoku 3 MVS cart. I would gladly buy it from you. PS: You need to get that Power Drift :). Great Video as always.
John, when you do the TMNT artwork, stop by arcadeskin -- I purchased his tmnt package and wow, really finished it off beautifully with the kickplate art. great quality.
science fiction movie is one of the greatest albums ive heard, i cant listen to postal service anymore (too many emotions wrapped up in that for me lol) so its an amazing cd...ive been listening to it ever since it came out when you talked about it on vgo...still waiting for that damn new cd and remix album! lol
John, 99% positive that was originally a TMNT or Crime Fighters. The single, mono speaker is a dead giveaway as TMNT (the first, 1989 one) was mono and only had one speaker. Crime Fighters was the only other mono 4p konami co-op game that I'm aware of. Everything post 1989 (i.e. Simpsons, Sunset Riders, etc) were stereo and came with two speakers/grills about the monitor. Good luck, man! -jimbodeanny EDIT: Nevermind. I didn't listen far enough ahead to realize you knew this as well ;)
Finished watching this, and John, which turtles game are you doing? The first or Turtles in Time? As for your idea of limiting the number of credits you put in, yeah, that's a great way to play those games. As you get better, keep scaling back the number of credits you use.
Alos, Amazon wont let me order your MP3 album... i've emailed tech support, i have both Canadian and American address' and its giving me greif but I will sort it out :) thanks for telling me which it was :)
John can't wait for that TMNT restore, now that's an arcade game along with Mortal Kombat that's from my generation and have many memories in the arcades of the nineties with, thanks man!!
Keep up the videos John. I certainly look forward to your videos each week.
wow man thanks you helping us get into the hobby teaching us how to do all this restorations ....
Hi there. My dedicated Mortal Kombat 2 has the 25" Hantarex Polo in it from the factory. It seems to be a really good monitor and was the very first that I ever did a cap kit to. Hey John that star wars was an upright, Namco Cybertainment made the chair attachment because they wanted to save money ~Sean
If you guys don't listen to The Killscreens you're missing out big time. It hasn't left my CD player rotation for like 4 years. And John, the music and editing in that Martha's Vineyard episode was really exceptional. Amazing job as always.
Make sure though you do a John's Kitchen while restoring TMNT, you need to make pizza this time!!
That's crazy, I just found a Double Axle in a private home and grabbed it last Saturday. Was in same shape as the one you saw pretty much (but fully working with a beautiful monitor).
thank-you John for making all these great videos
Great Vid Johnny. Love the Warehouse Raid vids. "Never know what your gonna get"
Am I onlyone who always wished to see TMNT cabinet build by John? I´m super happy too see that! Turtles is my youth!
And loving the music. You guys are big in Finland. Next tour come and play here in one of the Rock Festivals.
And doesn´t X-Men have 3 buttons and TMNT, Simpsons, Sunset riders have 2 buttons?
Not at all tmnt for life
theSammyM333 you. are. the. best. arcad gamer
I love Donkey Kong 3. A forgotten game for sure!
Would be cool to do a Simpsons restore too ;)
Wow. Cool warehouse!
Sooooo close to picking up that Power Drift. One of the most underrated driving games of all time. Go back for it John!
+Rob Boudon you never know....
Can't wait for the TMNT restore. I've got a TMNT project I need to get on and your vids will be a huge help
I'm so very super excited for a Turtles series! Looking forward to it :)
Hey John 6:57 theres a chase h.q on the right...great game you should've picked up!! lovely cab too, the US cab is so much nicer than our UK cabs. I've actually got a US chase HQ
John got DK3 skills, I see it! 389k high score very nice! luvs bro

for a short amount of time i thought... HUGH... your at tnt amusements :D - nice vid digger!
and good choice on that turtles cabinet, i have the same one (without the control deck or anything but the coin doors sadly)
Super High Impact Football is an awesome game. I played it a ton on SNES when I was a kid
Virtua Racing twin cab spotted. My dream racing cab!
Dude I love that shirt!!!
Any suggestions for cleaning wire harnesses? I've gotten a couple games where the wiring is all ziptied in bundles, like usual, but it's filthy... I'd prefer to do it without removing the entire harness from the cabinet, but if i have to, I will. Thoughts?

Holy cow that TV Tennis cab
You know you want that TV Tennis... It would look great next to Computer Space.
+thecouchtripper it's definitely an eyesore but there is something interesting about it.. I dunno.. Maybe my Pong nostalgia.
+thecouchtripper very true
The original Turtles was mono so it had a single center mounted speaker. Turtles in Time, Simpsons, Sunset Riders etc. were stereo and the cabinets have two speakers.
Good choice with the TMNT.
I have a MAME cab which has a 2 player turtles decal. But it's slowly turning into a custom Overwatch cab purely cuz I love Overwatch.
Nice video release pace! I'm in the same boat. Too much footage, so much work to edit and crank them out!
At 4:52 what is the Taito game on the far left? It has some killer artwork.
where can I get a kill screens CD?
...and BTW you need Power Drift 4 sure! ;)
John -- as an FYI, getting the glass cut isn't nearly as expensive as you are quoting. I recently got the glass replaced for my Golden Axe 2 and it was only 30 bucks. Retro Game Lounge It's probably not tempered. Tempered is custom made. You can't cut it.
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech You may be right. I figure since I don't have many people punching my arcade screens, it should hold :)
I had a tempered glass made for my Konami cab last year....25 bucks I believe
Looking forward to the Turtle restore, but I'd really wet my chair if you did a Sunset Riders one day ;-)
darn, so you passed on the power drift?! :P but that super high impact should be sweet! can't wait to see that restoration to convert it to TMNT.... Where is this warehouse?? Is it still open? I need to go here lol!!
Question, is it possible to contact that arcade warehouse? Thank you
Hi! Maybe you can LED the Ghostbuster on the bottom, like a fancy car, maybe you can connect the LEDs to some connection inside so it will fade in an out, like a ghostly heart ^_^ (something like *H5KOx84wjso* but better neater)
Turtles is a good game, go for it!
following you on spotify (i'm fan number 108) AND on deezer !!! i'm your first follower on deezer hahaha.
+Benoît what is deezer?
Hey John, is this warehouse in Woonsocket?
You should keep that Joystick green so it's sort of a nod to the original game that was in the cabinet
cool I can't wait to check it out that ok if your not that good at it as long as your trying your best that's what counts
hey John where can I buy a flyback for a ms pacman
That is a great idea to mix real drum samples with noise samples!
@John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech hay john! why dont you try a diy ecto1 build? that would be fun, even if its just a battery moddel fitted inside, im sure you could manage that.. also loveing your music on soundcloud! its realy good! keep it up!
hello man nice video! where is the arcadewarehose you visited? thanks!
whats up john when are you gonna put out the Hong Kong arcade video?
Don't feel bad about converting a crime fighters. My smash tv was an ultracade, that was a converted strike force.just need a Williams logo speaker grill to make it perfect. Same cabinet as STV
Was that a Uncle fester machine I seen next to the TV tennis? Oh wow been looking for that forever. They used to have a few here in Vegas. So awesome somone didnt wreck it out
Yes, that thing has been there for awhile.
Would love to get ahold of one of those. Those were great. Going in a arcade now they wouldnt fly nowadays haha. I loved that shocker!
Hi John. You should try one of those powder coating kits that they sell on ebay. Considering all the coins doors and metal parts that you restore, it might be worth it?
Also should be a sticker at the bottom part of the bezel. Not important but thought you should know. They were single color so you could probably even print it yourself.
John that shirt is awesome
+Aaron Truitt Thanks!
I'm rewatching this video, cause i love Treasure Hunting videos like Warehouse raids, and see at about 8:08 in the video you pass a Crazy Kong marquee that looks in very good shape. Did you pick that up?
$38 for the tempered glass locally here...
John, my buddy has been looking for a Wrestlefest control panel for a long time. Any chance you can get the one from the video and sell it to him?
I got TMNT set to hard, 5 lives per credit. Usually to a game play of 2 - 4 credits.
Why isnt the EM pinball in the basement yet?
It's broken. :)
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech Wha..? But, didnt you fix it?
Luzur No. I did not. :)
Huh, i gotta recheck the video you did on it again, i was sure you got it going. :P
Every time I see a Neo Geo MVS just sitting at a warehouse, far away from me mind you, it pains me. I have been looking for one for quite some time, but have yet to come across one in my area.
Come on, John! Multi turtles with turtles and turtles in time. Ftw!
What difficulty do you have your DK3 board set on?
+Aaron Truitt uh. Default?
There are 4 difficulty settings on DK3 - competitively we play on "3" or "Hard" as we call it.
Man... Wish there was a warehouse here that Gregg and us could raid for parts.. I still need a Medium Res monitor for my Sonic Championship and a cabinet/Monitor for my Darkstalkers..
John's starting to convert every oldies to a turtles, the end is near my brothers, DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
The real eye catcher was that TV Chicago, how did you not pick up that one a chicago man like you ?
LOL! It's just a 4p Konami cabinet!!
where is the arcade warehouse /?
I also just picked up converted crime fighters that I'm planning on converting to TMNT. I think it's a good idea but I I'm not 100% sure if the joysticks and button are the same spot because I havent checked yet.
+amplibax8 99.99999% sure they are.
I wonder what is going to be on the way out of the basement to make room for that turtles. Any guesses?
Tapper, into my living room!
Good idea for other restoration videos.. Bad idea when you run out of room to put video games, unless you get rid of more video games, or make the garage an arcade too...
Hard to imagine you passing on Power Drift for that price, considering your arcade business.
Hi John, any chance you can do a special on the road at the "Insane Housecade" you'd reviewed in an on-the-road two years ago? It would be a great Halloween special IMO. I especially liked the owner who was constantly smoking darts throughout the review.
John!!...you need to grab that Sengoku 3 MVS Cart!! Super fun beatem up...
+GoInsaneJo carts were not for sale. I tried. Wanted Bomberman. Those are still being operated.
If you go back please try again to get that Sengoku 3 MVS cart. I would gladly buy it from you.
PS: You need to get that Power Drift :).
Great Video as always.
cant find this stuff in sweden😔 ive search every where and it gotta exist but i cant find old arcade...tired of building mame cades
John, when you do the TMNT artwork, stop by arcadeskin -- I purchased his tmnt package and wow, really finished it off beautifully with the kickplate art. great quality.
I'm not a fan of the TMNT but I love the channel so I will watch .
I so want to see a tmnt restore I love the original tmnt arcades both were my go to quarter burner
science fiction movie is one of the greatest albums ive heard, i cant listen to postal service anymore (too many emotions wrapped up in that for me lol) so its an amazing cd...ive been listening to it ever since it came out when you talked about it on vgo...still waiting for that damn new cd and remix album! lol
Awesome, thank you! We are about to ready to release the remix with our second album just behind.
John, 99% positive that was originally a TMNT or Crime Fighters. The single, mono speaker is a dead giveaway as TMNT (the first, 1989 one) was mono and only had one speaker. Crime Fighters was the only other mono 4p konami co-op game that I'm aware of. EDIT: Nevermind. I didn't listen far enough ahead to realize you knew this as well ;)
Yeah, my knowledge of the cabinet evolved quickly that day. :)
Where this Warehouse is?I want to buy that Beast Buster!
so you grabbed the Konami cab that I want for Bucky O Hare. There's a local one I'm trying to snag tho
Dude... You need to restore a Turtles!!!!
where did you go!?!?!? I wanna go there, i seen MANY things I want.. (like that entire NEOGEO collection) :-P
John I am unable to join the Johns arcade forms so if I was going to by a donkey kong from you would it cover shiping
I am not selling my Donkey Kong. But if you join the forum maybe we can help find you one.
John converting a cabinet...? That surprised me.
+Coolzombi not really. :)
tbf it's already converted. Turning it into a Turtles is closer to what it was than what it is now.
+TheTurnipKing its the same cabinet in every way.
Yeah but it wasn't born that way, i think that you won't be able to sleep if you do that.. Just kidding :-)
just wanna lets yoy. know i found your album on spodify its good
I managed to salvage a NeoGeo board that someone put the voltage into audio amp and spent DAYS resoldering traces
On the band thing... what instrument are you playing John? Your stuff sounds mostly synth and drum tracks... but overall real good.
+Big Stan Matt and I play everything. I play most guitars. Matt sings. I create drum beats, play keyboard, etc.
Romhack is possible. Will talk with Jochen about it for the savekit.
+Stefan Kimmlingen awesome
Finished watching this, and John, which turtles game are you doing? The first or Turtles in Time? As for your idea of limiting the number of credits you put in, yeah, that's a great way to play those games. As you get better, keep scaling back the number of credits you use.
Yes, the first game!
Please let me know if you want to part with the "Bally/Sente Mini Golf" Translite...
John, if you go back, pick up that copy of Sengoku 3 for the Neo Geo. I think it's getting pricey. I think the whole kit goes for about $350.
+castlevania78 none of the Neo carts were for sale. :(
OMFG Turtles....That would be my first restore after the Simpsons if I had any moneys. :(
Great video as per usual, John. Just curious... Have you ever purchased a game from the company TnT amusement?
I got all my TMNT art from Game On Graphix and wico grommets from Arcade Shop.
Alos, Amazon wont let me order your MP3 album... i've emailed tech support, i have both Canadian and American address' and its giving me greif but I will sort it out :) thanks for telling me which it was :)
Get the TV tennis
John
