I must say this bike is a good looking machine, well done to the restoration team. I think this is one of the best of the classic Guzzis, I am a Breva V1100 owner so Guzzis are a passion

I have a neighbor with three vintage Guzzi's.
For over 20 years I have listened to the beautiful sound of these bikes.
He is retiring and moving away. I may have to just buy one for myself now. Special bikes

Sigh. You know you're getting old when the bikes you rode daily are being revived from private collections.
Of the bikes I've owned before or since, the T3 is the one I wish I could walk outside my door and see under my carport. It always left me at the end of a ride with a smile on my face, even on bad roads, at night in foul weather, and in over forty thousand miles, never skipped a beat, only needing oil, tires plugs and brake pads, and very infrequent valve adjustment.

47f0 I had a G5 1000 for a while, it was one of those bikes, so stable and easygoing, riding was just a pleasure. Had a time that bike just chugged me on home when I was far too drunk and shouldn't have gone anywhere! Last Guzzi I owned was bought from a guy who kept it as an art piece in his living room. It was a '78 Mk1 Lemans, 6500 miles. Just needed everything gone through, all fluids changed, battery and carb rebuilds and she was on the road. Put in FAC front fork cartridges and a just set of custom made shocks and she rode like a dream, always wanted one of them, and this one was perfect, totally unmolested! A friend's business partner wanted it so bad He made me an offer I couldn't refuse and away it went.. But that bike meant so much to the guy, I was happy to see him get it, even saw him out on the road a couple times. My friend told me that bike was the one thing his partner couldn't find a good example of, he even flew to New York to see the one on display at the Guggenheim, and said it was just a ratbike!

47f0 I doubt I'd ever be able to afford a bike like this

@@brettwyatt7165 You'd be surprised. Keep your eyes open and you may find one. It'll likely need a good amount of restoration, but it'll be worth it. An old BMW boxer would be good too, parts and support are still excellent for them, and they're also reliable and still easily ridable today.

Had a 850 T and later a 850 T3. after owning around 50 or so bikes of all types the Guzzi was one of the best highway bikes ive known. on most bikes i always felt searching with my left foot for a non existant extra top gear. not so on the Guzzi. perfect gearing didnt feel like you needed a extra gear. and that sound!

Nigel did a great job on rebuilding the heads on my 1000s, he is a very pleasant man to deal with and I would recommend him to anyone.

I bought a 1975 850T after serving in the Navy in 1991.It was great but clutch cables would break often and I would have to clean the spark plugs every week.It really liked cool nighttime air.I sold it in the mid 1990's, when everyone having a cell phone became the norm.I am going to get back into motorcycles but this time I will complete some riding courses first.I really did not know what I was doing the first go round.I just bought a bike and rode.I was lucky.
The new Moto Guzzi bikes have traction control, fuel injection, disc breaks front and rear.Often I see one that has been on a showroom floor for 2 or more years at a bargain price.

Your carburation was not set correctly as I never had issues with fouled plugs on my guzzies ever. Never broke a clutch cable either

No restoration team, just a skilled guy getting it running after 37 years of being completely dormant. The biggest challenges were cleaning out the fuel system and replacing the rear crankshaft oil seal that had turned into a big piece of liquorice. The perishable parts had to be replaced: the tyres, battery and some of the cables. Apart from that it is completely original. The last guys that touched most of it were the Moto Guzzi production assemblers back in 1975.

cracks me up, they could have lowered or raised the exhaust or just made it to where you had to pull the mufflers to access the axle like most brit bikes, but they went the route of cutting huge dimples into the mufflers. amazing how much it sounds like a TR7.. just not quite as thumpy

Labor intensive. After 37 YEARS! All bikes should be inspected and necessary parts replaced, serviced. Engine, transmission, fittings, plastic, nuts and bolts, electrical, bearings, carbs, fuel tank and a host of other parts and issues. Once you do the work? You have a new, nearly 4 decade old, Moto Guzzi. Congrats...

Those came with 30mm square slide Dellorto carbs as did most Guzzis. Only the LeMans models came with 40's, with the exception of the CX 1000 in the US which was basically a dressed T5.
