A cool subtle detail in this ep is when Frieren visits the shopkeeper during her Solo travels towards the start of the ep, the first time we see him he is quite young but 20 seconds later in the episode we see him again as an elderly old man , it just shows how much of a disassociation Frieren has with time and how 50 years to her may feel the same as a few minutes or even a few seconds to us. Its a crazy concept to think about if you put yourself in Frierens shoes 😂
I watched the first two Episodes and figured it wasnt for me. But the themes overall are interesting and it isnt just another typical Demon Slayer, Kaisen, Chainsaw Shonen. So maybe i keep up with your reaction to it.
@ it’s a beautiful yet tragic story where we see life from an elf perspective, as she learns to appreciate people’s time spent with them. We’ve never had that perspective before. It’s really a beautiful story and really on the rewatch you notice all the small details in episode 1 that makes sense throughout the season.
Unfortunately I dropped this show 7-8 eps in, i’m curious to hear your thoughts about it at the final episode. Might pick it back up depending on your review lol
You've never watched studio Ghibli? If you want the peak of anime storytelling and hand-drawn art and animation, Ghibli is it. Princess Mononoke, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Spirited Away, Laputa (Castle in the Sky), Howl's Moving Castle, etc, etc... Don't expect flashy modern animation or tons and tons of intense action, but they're essentially a more mature version of classic Disney.
@@DrexPlays The storytelling, music, art, and animation quality are truly great, especially given when they were made. Again though, you just have to remember that Studio Ghibli's work is hand-drawn. But of course that doesn't necessary mean that everyone will enjoy the style, or the tone, or find them them super exciting. Many of them are pretty whimsical and chaotic, so it might not be your thing, who knows? But I would highly recommend at least giving Princess Mononoke a chance. That's the most mature and exciting one of the bunch. Oh and the English dubs are generally pretty damn good too, if you'd rather watch them that way.
Hope you end up liking this one. If you're looking for One Piece style face reactions this is the wrong show though lol, most of the characters in this show are pretty deadpan like Robin in One Piece is.
Subs is better, translation more accurate. the dub version can be too wordy, repetetive, even changing lines at times that it adds elements that are not supposed to be there. Good writing is intentional, and sadly the dubs take too many liberties with its reinterpretations.

exactly! thats why its so easy for things to not "mean" anything or phase her. a human life span is a BLINK of time for her
Let's see what this hype is all about! (YES YT copyrighted me for the opening. YES I had to remove it. NO I can't include it :( ..)
I don't usually get involved in the sub vs dub argument, but in this case the Japanese voice acting is just too good not to watch the sub.
@@SaxonBlue2 I AGREE. like sometime stories just dont HIT the same if you watch in dubbed
LETS GO
Frieren is up there alongside Farnese, Beatrice, Saber and Shiki as one of the best animanga female characters.
I dont think ive seen a female MC yet so im here for it

ya the fact it wont be another just recycled new gen type has me intrigued
Also this anime, Frieren, reminds me a lot of Vinland Saga season 2. If you enjoyed that, then you will likely enjoy this one IMO.
ya i like that vibe
Oh we starting a masterpiece
is it THAT good?!

lol, you dropped the show literally RIGHT before it popped off.
Episode 10 will explain why she's kind of cold and awkward around people.
Best new-gen show.
