I'm 16 and searching for jobs. It's so hard to find a place that's willing to hire a young person or is not looking for previous experience. This is very helpful
As someone who was in this position (granted 8 years ago), the way I got out of it was to get on as many work experiences as possible and applied to loads of apprenticeships afterwards
I'm 52 and just been made redundant. I have to update a cv and I have an idea what I have to do but trying to put years of experience into a couple of sentences is a proper headache. Thank you for this video. It has been a great help!
Thank you! I am in process of writing of my first CV and your advice helps GREATLY! This is all so confusing and new to me and so much stuff! Thank you
I have some questions: 1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate). 2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role 3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies 4. *I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years* *Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer*..
Ain, thank you for this video. The info is really clear and easy to understand, I think my cv is currently following those tips. I'll be back to tell you if I got a job.
Hey, thanks for all your advice! I've been applying for jobs with a company in a very similar field to my current company with repeated no luck on and off for a few years now. After seeing your video, I'm really excited to completely rewrite my CV with a hopeful look ahead to maybe being successful this application! Thank you
Great video! Would just add to make sure you use correct spelling, grammar and spacing and check multiple times. How you write on your CV says a lot about you. and how good or bad you would be as potential employee. You don’t want potential employers to think you are unprofessional.
My picture is on my cv - my cv is one page and I landed a job immediately - it is down to the type of job you are going for and making yourself stand out and be unique is key too. One page is relevant for more professional and specialist roles - just a suggestion.
Hey Ain! Thanks so much for the video. It could not have come at a better time as I have applying for some publishing positions on my to-do list for this weekend :) Is there anyway you could give some tips for a personal statement next? I never know what the best tone to strike is. How much wiggle room do I have to show personality? Should the tone be formal and professional or am I allowed to add a little more voice? I struggle with trying to find what I feel like is an acceptable balance every time. You touched on this when you talked about having your friend read your personal statement, but if you have other tips, I'm all ears! Thanks again!
Hey Marissa, thanks so much for watching and glad this has been of a little help! I'd say ideally you'd want something formal to be professional but also true to your personality traits. Ask yourself if a friend would recognise you in your statement, I find that helps me to make sure it's not too intense :) x
Thanks Livy!! I wouldn't say so, it depends on what type of experience you're sharing and what job you're applying for. For me it's much easier to summarise my key responsibilities in bullet points, but I've seen great CVs in other formats too! x
this was a really helpful video. I am a musician and I've done so much freelance and volunteer work that I am not sure how to compact it down. Would it be best me putting something like; "I have done lots of freelance and volunteer work including..." It would mean I can compact my CV down and list just a few.
Im an international student(9th grade) who is aplying for a summer course going to be held this summer and i need to prepeare a cv. Should it contain my secondary school info which has nothing to do about summer course.
Thank you for the information. It's always hard for me to get through a presentation when the presenter ends every sentence with vocal fry but easier with an English accent. I guess I'm a racist.
I am only looking for UK cv format but i found a beautiful woman and its more interesting to watch your video, i like your eye contact to the viewers while you speak thank you i learned a lot.

Have you tried looking into apprenticeships? Sometimes there are good schemes that can help :)

Definitely lie or embellish regarding experience for low skill jobs…. Once you’re in the interview it’s all in your hands 🙌
@@AinChiara Volunteer in an area your interested in. Do not lie on a CV, you can be sacked for doing so and do you really want to be that person?
Dont putbyour age on a cv

Not unless clearly stated in the application!
