Thanks for explaining the WB effects image brightness and how to correct it. I do a lot of slide scanning, thousands and and a lot of them, are 40+ years old and faded. My scanner produces 3600 dpi Tiff files, post processing in LR.
This was really useful. I’ve been using auto and adjusting WB in Lightroom. I won’t be doing this anymore as it’s often off by allot. Can I ask, does the WB effect dynamic range or anything else or just exposure. I guess the question is if you adjust in post are you degrading the image compared to perfect WB in camera. Cheers
Thanks! I'm glad this helped. To understand WB and color overall better, I'd recommend getting "Mastering in Color", here's a link if you'd like to check that out: amzn.to/3SkU6ec
Thanks! I'll give that some thought, although video is a different animal since we work with transitions. I do though show setting WB for video segments (and adjusting in post) in my new pro video course, not sure if you checked that out but here's a link if you'd like to see what all it entails: provideo.nathancool.com

What are your impressions of the new flash trigger from Godox? They call it the "xnano" and it is scheduled to be released on January 30, 2024.
Not impressed, not recommended for pro work. This is my recommended trigger: amzn.to/423K0BT
