They're showing Chris this week on Buzzr. After this win, Chris came back on the next show and won $22,400!! He had $11,200 and a queen on his last card and bet it all (one king and one ace had been played). That's $50,400 in two money card wins!
The 'push rule' actually was introduced in 1980 on Jim Perry's version. Also changing the base card on the three levels was introduced short time into 1978.
2:03 Got the deuce, best card next to an ace. With the push rule, he could only gain if another deuce didn't come up. His luck continues when the next card is an ace and he is guaranteed $14,000 with the push rule.
Before ABC revived Card Sharks with Joel McHale, I kicked around the thought of having a high stakes week where Money Cards starts at $20,000 which would mean if you shot the max like Norma Brown, you win over 3 million dollars
@@aaronbruceladner1983 Yeah. someone previously pointed that. Sale Of The Century was my favorite show so you would think I wouldn't have messed that up.
you and me both, I would add one twist in the cards in the main game, two extra change cards in each players deck, if you draw an extra change card, you can use it after anytime in rounds 1,2 or 3 after you win a question, you don't like the card after you change it, you can use your extra change card again to get a better card, other than that I'd keep it the same except each game won is $250, and the money cards start with $500 and three cards, move to the second level $500 and three more cards, minimum bets are $50 until you get to the big bet and there you must bet at least half of your money. If you go double-double double it is worth $72,000. you get one joker for winning the main game, and two more jokers are added to the deck, you can change your card three times anytime during the money cards, in the bonus game, you pick one of 7 cards, behind one of them might say Cash ($10,000), Car, Refrigerator, Washer/ Dryer, Trip,. could also make it if you win five times you automatically win a car and you are a retired champion. The extra change cards was just something I thought of as an added twist. you also in the main game if you get one of the human nature poll question on the nose you get a $500 bonus. I think this should be revived daytime by CBS since they have The Price Is Right and Let's Make a Deal, why not add Card Sharks and even a Press Your Luck revival.
@@scootover7 I'd go even further than that. The one flaw the main game always had to me, especially in sudden death since you could freeze at any other time, is that you lost on a double. What I would do is, anytime a double came up, that card is automatically changed and they get a crack at one more card. Always have believed that is/woulda been much fairer.
My understanding is that before the 3 change cards were put into effect, you could only change the base cards, and you did not have a choice of 3 cards to change to. Also, Eubanks mentions the "push rule" which is another later rule change on this show. Before the "push rule," if the same card came up twice, you would lose. I'm not clear on whether you could change a card more than once on a level when the 3 change card thing started. But it is clear here that you can change a card that is not a base card.
jeopardy60611 this version o believe sways had the 3 cards change at least 1x per line later changed to max 1x change per line..perry's version with bust on push ..later changed to no loss on push and only changel base card was very restrictive
@@markjones1184 It did, Perry's run was base card change only at start, then went to 1 card per line anywhere later, but it wasn't a choice of 3 like here.
There was a contestant who had the max $16K in 1988 going into the Big Bet. They had two cards left to change. They changed their card to an eight, bet $8K and won $24k, The other change card was revealed to be a two, and would have been a perfect Money Cards if not for picking the wrong change card. $29K was the most won in one MC. on this version, by Faith in 1986.
He got so many extreme high or low cards. Talk about lucky!

schmolik1 just watched this on buzzer yesterday. It's on fire stick. UnfortunAtely only season 1 is available
I just started watching as well and only season 1 is available for me too

I'm So Glad for that "Push" Rule
If he had gone all the way on the 4 he would’ve broken the bank
10/12/1995
He didn't have to play those cards right, they were all nicely laid out for him the whole time
The win here is not the money; it's the opportunity to get a full-on hug from Suzanna Williams.

GOD BLESS BOB EUBANKS!
You Too!!!!!
Actually someone won $28,800 on the Jim Perry "Card Sharks".
It was actually Norma Brown, airdate November 17, 1978
This was before Faith's $29,000 win. They changed to the one card per row about a few weeks after this aired.
Seems they always change/tweak the rules when people start winning.
I'd be jumping with joy if i won $28,000 in cash on any game shows especially Card Sharks for me though
OH MY GOD WOW YEAH YOU DID IT HE'S WON $28,000 congratulations Chris 👏 YOU WON

The Ace Of Hearts!!!!
Chickened out on the '4' and could have broke the bank, what a shame.
You Won $28,000!!!!!
$28,000 almost winning the whole thing if he bet all of it on them cards.
@@brandonpowe4416 Nice!!!!!!!
Love it when Lacey squats putting the lower cards on the first row
@gameshowguy2000
Very good question, gameshowguy! The new rules went into effect on episode #021, which would have aired on February 03, 1986.
One the earliest big wins in this incarnation.
Amazing win!!
7 days before the big loss...challenger explosion :-(
The real win was the hug he got from Summer Bartholomew.
Lacey Pemberton
@@aaronbruceladner1983 Thanks!

I Agree! Chris Should've Bet All His Money on that 4.
Card Sharks went back on the air and at the time it was the second highest Money Cards win (the highest was $28,800).
2:04
Even under the new rules he still would've won the $28,000 as he only changed one card per line.
When My Folks and I Play the MONEY CARDS, I Make Sure We Use the "Push" Rule
this episode aired today on gsn
And I watched it on BUZZR.
This was the best scenario of all the rules no Loss on a push so he was guaranteed 14k oh i wish they'd bring this show back

Aired On CBS.
I went all the way to $32,000 and even my name is Chris!
This is for $28,000 😅😊😂 wow
With a two and a three already up, I still have no idea why he didn't!
They would have shown this moment if it was not for the technical problems last night.
I don't think anybody ever won the max of $32,000 in one money cards on the 1986-89 version???
No one ever did no, the famous Faith won $29,000 not long after this, but that was the closest anyone ever got.
Bad ass nice work
Could've done much more with that and he could've walked out with 30,000

This was when they could change a card up to three times. When did they amend the rules to "change one card per row"?

OMG talk about rigged. And its takes 2 women to place/deal the cards ......................... right (lol)
OK, if this was rigged, the show would've been cancelled immediately. This was after the quiz show scandals.
