it's hilarious to see them immediatly run to try it again once they tasted that first ripost. the thirst for bloodshed has been awakened again in a young soul.
I never thought of it like that, but DS really did make backseating fun and friendly. I remember on my first playthrough I loved being summoned to help out whenever I could
Imagine you're going about your day, when suddenly a dark rift opens and a demon pulsing with dark energy comes through, death in it's eyes, oblivion in it's breath... And then it gently teaches you how to operate Microsoft Excel like one would a preschooler, then leaves... Apparently that's all it wanted to do
Started my first playthough of ds1, got invaded by a guy while fighting a mimic, he patiently waited for me to win, then we both spammed block to signal the start of the fight. I’m shit at pvp. He was clearly better than me but I held my ground. At one point I got a good combo of dodges and attacks stringed together. He bowed as a sign of respect and then left. I got to keep my humanity. I can’t confirm it, but the way he was fighting felt like he was purposely holding back, as a sort of way to teach me how to fight. Like a dark souls master invaded my world, watched the way I fight, gave me subtle hints and advice, and then left satisfied with my progress. It was definitely one of my favorite experiences so far.
i agree, he did hold back and showed you the ropes. my favorite moments where in the ds3 arena. imagine having 2500kh hours in the game and getting absolutely CLAPPED. i get a friend request. bro trained me 3 days straight until i managed to hold my own against him. later i found out this 'random Russian dude named Mokfel' was notorious even amongst the top elite players. being honorable goes a long way indeed, you never know who you run into. good luck on your ds1 ventures!
Don't pick items. Sometimes hackers give you bugged items to cause you get banned by Anti-Cheat. This items called %GoodName% and since you can't check item before you pick it you better to think every items dropped by invader is %GoodName%. They may be just items, but better be paranoid then sorry
@adambartch2412 hello! I played thru most of the game at level 11 and then came back to the early game to invade and host :) bought it from the merchant in sen's fortress
Love that so much! My favourite invasion was when I tried out DS3's boss invasion glitch and gained a full party's trust enough to go through the whole DLC1 with them even while the blue was super on edge the whole time, and my favourite invader is still my first. Just another average noob trying out the mechanic on me in the Depths after getting Fire Orb. We were both scared, and he won in a fair fight. Added another layer of fun on an already spicy and interesting first run!
Love this cases teaching people the game….I almost threw away the thought of playing a souls game until my friends offered to help and it was so much fun. Jolly Cooperation!
Nice, I got a dude who decided to invade me while I was in the depths and attack me along with the rats and cursing creature yesterday. Bro ended up taking 10,000 of my souls
This randomly showed up in my recommendations and I like it! The wholesome Chungus Onion Bro. Just don't question why he is a red onion... Praise the Sun \\[T]'//
that's awesome I love fun silly invasions. I got invaded in Sen's, started by dropping me a couple Divine Blessings, then just let me smack them a bit while attempting to parry. Eventually they got one, switched to a staff, one shot me with Dark Bead. legit hilarious, everyone wins :D

yes! lol
My guy didn't know how to emote but expressed his gratefulness by doing a joyful spin. So cute
😂yep lol
I notice that a lot in Elden Ring. XD
the classic souls "I'M HAVING FUN AND LEARNING" spin
lol indeed 😂
The fact that DS1 managed to turn backseating into a heartwarming beacon of community is black magic of the highest level.
indeed 😄

hey, there's some complicated stuff you can do in excel. maybe sometimes you need a demon
Heck if Lucifer himself would've visited me to teach me how to use VLOOKUP I wouldn't have had that problem during my exams.
its.

that's a great story, thank you for sharing it! I love when invaders are welcoming to new players
Hah, that might as well have been me. Being able to read this sort of things, still, on the brink of 2025, is the real kicker

"Teach a man to fish", that sentence fits quite well, I like it.
I'm glad someone noticed :)
give a man a fish, he will not be hungry for a day, teach a man how to fish and he will never be hungry. 🙏
I once had an invader who droped me 40 freaken humanities, didn't elaborate and left like nothing happned
how nice of them!
I did this but with dragon scales once, dude was flabbergasted

MAY THE SUN SHINE SHINE UPON THIS LORD OF CINDER !
It’s funny how I’ve only ever seen friendly invaders in DS1 and DS2, never in any of the future games.
people seem to take pvp very seriously in the later games. here its all just silly :D
Teach a man to parry and he will learn to dodgeroll
That was adorable. One of many reasons why I love these games haha.
yes! I love the silent communication in these games

bad red men are good, actually ❤

don't worry, he learned after this :)

Alright, now you need a quick 1-2 second cut of you reposting him. Tack that right onto the end
