    What do you think of the cameras and features available on the Nubia Pad 3D? There is a surprising amount of things that are possible on this 3D tablet using the early form of the LeiaCam app. If you like taking photos are love 3D photography chances are this tablet is for you! Watch to the end to find out everything it can do!
    A couple points that I missed in the video that are important to know:
    1. The images and videos captured are viewed in 3D using LeiaPlayer as a media player app, but the actual files are stored on internal storage and can be easily located
    2. Brightness can be adjusted with a brightness slider beside the sun icon that appears next to the focus reticle

      Hi thanks for your response, l have both the original Lumepad and the Nubia Pad 3D.
      The Nubia Pad 3D looks good and is nice to handle, great sound and an amazing 3d screen.
      It takes great photos which look good on the new screen with it's higher resolution.
      The camera tools are sufficient for now but could be improved.
      I hope software updates will improve the tools available
      Leiaplayer needs the all the picture edit tools of the original Lumepad plus the tap to expand and pinch to zoom found on the original Lumepad.
      I hope a software update will include these.
      Leia tube is so good and is more stable than the vertion on the original Lumepad
      The Xtalk /ghosting can be greatly reduce by taking the slider all the way down.
      I hope the Xtalk /ghosting can be reduce in future with software updated.
      LeiaPix is great, so good to see 3D pictures from all the user all over the World, but more work needs to be carried out to reduce the Xtalk/ghosting compared to the original Lumepad.
      Also the problem of lower resultion pictures in preview and when opening pictures for the first time, but return to correct resolution after you more through a few pictures.
      I also like to see the tab Newest returned as found on the original Lumepad.
      I hope thses are sorted in a software update.
      The Nubia Pad 3D is impressive and I am glad I purchased it.
      Looking forward to the software updates

    Josh- Please make more videos with insights/tip about the various apps. I've started posting suggestions for new apps In your Feature Requests forum.

      @@josh_3D I have encountered issues with the LeiaViewer being very unstable, the LeiaFrame not supporting large files of images, and other issues with other apps. It would be helpfull if I had someone like yourself to compare notes with on these app problems since I can't get Leia Customer Support to respond. Is there some way I could have a more direct discussion via email or even realtime. Since you are a fellow 3D enthusiast, I presume you also do VR, so do you have a Quest 2 account? - Steve

      @@stephenbard1590 Sorry you are having issues with some of the apps. I have encountered similar things, and I believe Leia is working on a lot of that stuff, but because they are a startup and their team is small, they really have to prioritize fixing and working on the most popular features or critical bugs. Thank you for contributing to my post on the Liea Forums. They do actually read through those and take the feedback into account. Why don't you start a post about some of your specific concerns on the forums, that way, I and other community members can all contribute to the discussion there and compare to see whether we also are having similar issues. I actually don't do a whole lot of VR, my main focus is glasses free 3D display tech. But I am considering doing some things with it. The only VR headset I own is a Pico 4. It offers a number of 3D movies for free in certain regions right now as part of a streaming service so I've considered reviewing those in videos. I have also played around with bringing my Nubia Pad 3D photos and videos over to the headset.

    I believe, and having owned a Sony TD 10 since it was released. Keeping a distance of at least one metre from your subject will help with with a better viewing experience of all your photos, and videos without any adjustments. When someone points a finger in our face our eyes are able to cross into each other where as the fixed lenses of the camera cannot. This is the big leap in what James Cameron did with 3D Filming when making the first Avatar movie. I hope I explained that well. I am a huge 3D fan all my life. And I will be ordering this device to add to my collection. I love filming all my video's in 3D and we watch back in my dedicated home theatre projected on huge screen in surround sounds as the Sony TD 10 records in 5.1 very well. Its amazing to look back at images and video this way really capturing life like looking back in time, or through a window. I'm so glad I recently discoverd this device before I pulled the trigger on the Kandao Qoocam EGO. Although I may look back into again in the future. This seems like it has a lot more to offer, on top of being a well built tablet. Thanks. Subscribing. BTW...how does the AUDIO recording sound when taking video? - Toronto, Canada.

    Good overview of the camera. How does it compare to the Qoocam Ego? Is the lens interocular distance too small?

    • @josh_3D
      @josh_3D  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People have raised this as a potential concern, but I think pretty much everything from several feet/half a meter away to somewhat far away looks great. Capturing scenery far off into the distance without anything nearby falling into the frame doesn't result in a very 3D photo. Outside of that and extremely close up shots, all combinations of distances and angles look beautiful. I'll see if I can find some photos on LeiaPix taken with the Qoocam Ego to compare

      I own a QooCam Ego.... QooCam sent me a marketing email about bundling this tablet with the QooCam and Or the QooCam Ergo... I'll update after I test my QooCam footage on this device.

      I am curious about the difference compared to the Qoocam Ego as well.
      In addition to the overall camera quality, I’m wondering how fast it is compared to the Qoocam Ego. I have heard the Qoocam can take 4 seconds per action which I assume would make capturing pictures quickly more challenging. Also I have heard the battery only lasts one hour.
      While the compact size and wide stereo base of the Ego camera would be an advantage- high resolution with good contrast and fast startup as well as long battery life are important as well.

    The problem you're talking about where there is ghosting is probably due to taking the image too close. The software can't overcome the basic physics of 3D photography. The adjustment of overlap is what 3D photographers from the old film days have traditionally called "setting the stereo window".

    Great video with an honest opinion,. I agree with you on all your point.
    Yes I think Leia will correct the problems and in up coming updates give us more picture editing tools as found on the original Lumepad

  • @silvertube52
    @silvertube52 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes the camera is good and the depth map display with warning of being too close is a great feature, but why doesn't it give you the option to save the SDS to the internal storage? Why does it force you to go to social media or cloud?

    • @josh_3D
      @josh_3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      I should have demonstrated the storage location. The photos are viewed in 3D through the default media player, but they are actually stored in the camera folder in internal storage!

    • @silvertube52

      @@josh_3D On mine I can find lightfield files, but not a saved SBS. I can't transfer SBS to my desktop computer to process them in StereoPhoto Maker or other software. I want it to save SBS to a folder on the device, but I can't see a way to do that.

      @@silvertube52 That's a good point. It may not be possible yet without an update. I made a forum page on the LeiaInc forums for feature requests. The team does actually read through them, so that would be a good place to show them this is a feature that we would like to see. The more people they see posting about similar features, the more likely they are to take it as a high priority development request. rly nice bro. do you know if this tablet is limited edition? because i still need 2 more months of saving up the money.

    • @josh_3D
      @josh_3D  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not supposed to be limited edition. From what I understand it is going to have a normal tablet product life span and support. You should be totally fine waiting a couple months!
