Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I had to go back and rewatch your "About the motherboards, part 2" video (38min) to understand better how the startup chip controls the screen. Great video.
I had thought about this solution studing your past videos while i'm watching this one. I'm happy because this is a proof that i'm learning. Thank you sir.
i always wait for your video.in morning i first check your video.then i m working.i see your then i m happy. sir , 3.3 volt in this check point or more.i don,t know please help me. sir u r very intelligent.
I have a small screen that has a driver curcuit that I think is bad. it has a 6pin driver chip marked 07AA with a R offset lower. This is on a 3D printer Malyan M200. Could you suggest how to find this chip as I have looked everywhere I can think of. What would you do or use to replace it with? Thanks for the videos.
just wondering if you don't have an oscilloscope and you are trying to find the high rate of voltage change somwhere.. could you test the terminals of the components with an led and a high resistor?
I usually admire Sorin's methods and highly regard him as a technician, this time however, I gave him a "dislike". Why? Because he just put a band-aid on a broken leg. Obviously something was causing this fault and after his "fix", this fault wasn't removed - just swept under the carpet. Yes, the computer is (somewhat) working, as he admitted, probably without a full functionality of the NEW screen, and yes, I do understand his time constrains and cost of the repair to the shop. Was it effective? In the short run, yes. Was it professional? Hell NO! I, as a customer, would be furious if my NEW screen, for which I paid (most likely) wasn't fully operational. And, as this is (i think) a warranty job, the client has already some bad experience with the shop (she/he had to come back = waste her/his time x 2). If they discover lack of brightness regulation ability (granted, may not happen for a long time) and (say) take it somewhere else, this "fix"is going to be discovered... How it would affect Sorin's shop reputation is an open question. Bad reputation travels very quickly...
You are the customer .... i will give you two option .... a repair like in video for £40 (but you can;t adjust the brightness) or a super io chip replacement (most like faulty in this case) for £100 ..... your choice? 100% of the customers go for the cheap one. I always said on my videos, this is a real life shop, nothing fake, nothing done only for a good looking youtube video.
@@electronicsrepairschool Sorin, if the customer WAS presented with these options and HIS choice was to go cheap, then YES, it was a way to go. What I was referring to was the situation which unfortunately happens in many, many service shops, mechanical garages, etc. When a customer comes with the engine warning control light on the dashboard, they give him the cheap and expensive options. The cheap is to disconnect the control light (so it doesn't bother the Client) instead of fixing the engine. If The customer doesn't know anything about cars, they may choose the cheap way, just because they will pay less (in the short term), not realizing that they may be forced to pay much, much more in the future for the engine replacement.

An other nice job. Thanks a lot. Why did you not uploading videos as before? I hope there are not problems with your boss.

I'm pretty sure he is the boss since everyone comes to him in the other videos and he tells them the price to charge.
