The too much time children are spending on electronic devices. Parents have to help children to regulate their time.

Its full time the ministry of education realize far too many of our children leaving high school with no subject, no skill, no trade, nothing to face the world with, no way to turn, after years spent in high school. It is a hugh problem for our country which the policy makers has overlooked. Its full time Heart Trust skill and trade program be implemented in all the high schools. So the students who are not academic sauvy could learn a skill or trade while in high school. Leaving with there Heart certificate, which is something valuable at home and abroad in the working world.

The main problem is scamming is too lucrative, so having a 9-5 job is pointless when you can “chop” one client and get 2-3 years of wages in one go. Until that problem is solved, there is no emphasis for the youths to strive for hard work. Jamaicans glorify scammers when they are nothing but opportunistic thieves.

If the scamming money was that easy to get everyone would be rich already and have no need for money.@@zelinkz

Some parents are waiting for teachers to do everything for their children and thats not possible, the parents need to do their part as well, for thats what I did with my three children, everyone of them went out to school far advance than their age and it went with them all the way through school.

The real problem in Jamaica's education system is at the primary level. Why do we still have an "All-Purpose" Teacher?.....meaning one teacher teaching Mathematics, social studies...science....etc.....Every primary school should have a specialist teacher for Mathematics, Science, English language, and Information Technology.....
Stop having a teacher who doesn't like Mathematics teaching the subject and do this for the major subject. We need specialist teachers for these subjects....Hence, when they reach high school we will not have the problem currently faced.
No student should be leaving primary school and can't do fractions in mathematics. Too much of this now it needs to STOP!!!!!

They need to make a comparison through a study of children who sat the Common Entrance and those who sit the PEP. How many of them matriculated to territory level? I personally think the PEP is too heavy. In London, the students in Year 6 sit 3 math papers ,1 reading, 1 SPAG (spelling, grammar and puntuation) Writing and Science are teacher assessd. The writing is assessed periodically.

Its true that God should be first, but it's up to the parents to teach their children about God; the Bible says so. Many churches in Jamaica, but little to no knowledge about God.

not everything is a teacher's responsibility, believe it or not, Janet. Especially. when it comes to the Bible, a teacher should ONLY be reinforcing what is being taught at HOME. it's NOT the other way around. If we leave everything to the teachers, what the hell is a parent's responsibility?

High school placement is the reason I migrated with my child, my child has graduated with high honors and has a brilliant future now. Placed my child in a substandard school while students that got lower grades got into top schools. Placement isn’t fair and I wasn’t going to make them destroy my child’s future.

It is a good move in the right direction.
But I am concerned for some
Why the police don't try to clean up the communities first so that the children can lived there youth.😮

If you alll can't can't see that ii is the electronic devices that is causing the problems in schools then you all blind. These children are up all 3 o'clock a night playing games on their phone. I was watching a church service online and a female Minister was up there with her son who is about 6 yrs old with the earphone over his ear playing on a tablet throughout the whole service and that Minister didn't do a thing about. What was the perpose in taking that child to church. It is only going to get worse in these schools.

@@rubylimey7614 A highway here, a highway there, a new hotel, a new shopping center….Show these on TH-cam and everyone jump up and down and say yes, Jamaica is progressing…..There is no large scale program to fix the majority of the island’s dilapidated roads, National Water Commission is a mess, NSWA is inefficient and the current outrage at JPS will quickly fade away. No government, JLP or PNP has been able to resolve the intractable crime plaguing the country for the past 50 years. Police stations, prisons, hospitals, schools, libraries, courthouses, markets are all dilapidated.
