    I have great respect for what you do. Your are bringing the beauty of strong but lightweight boats to the world with integrity and fine workmanship.. These designs are a pleasure to paddle and look at.

    This looks excellent! A few questions though, did you steam your inwales in one piece? or iron/use boiling water? Also, are the last few ribs at the bow and stern solid or one piece on each side?

    did you just take your rib material straight from the saw to the steamer?
    you are supposed to soak in water for a day at least

      My guess is they have several jobs going at once. Probably yesterday’s wood going in steamer?

      Not air dried... right to the steamer.

    What type of wood for the ribs and planking? Doesn't look like cedar.

      +jadekayak01 that would be false information. Cedar is the standard for ribs and planks. Just look at centuries old birch bark canoes. Smell them(canoe museum Peterborough) and revise your answer.

    From 3:16 to 4:00. i would have cut it square and added an hardwood cap on it; look's better!
