Hickory Ridge Homestead sent me. Just subbed, and decided to start at the beginning. Wow, what a mess! Not sure how old you are, but we moved to our land at about 50 and built our homestead to where we could get into it before winter while living in a 10' x 12' shed (with a sleeping area upstairs). Where there's a will there's a way, and I wish you guys the best of luck! One tip: Replace any flag survey markers with t-posts if there is no fence or other boundary already there. Otherwise down the road you may have to pay for a new survey $$$ -- Speaking from experience 😊

Ridge View Homestead - Yes we do have a channel, but no, we did not film the build. We built in 2011 and have a ton of pictures, but only a couple videos. I'll have to scatter some of the images in with the newer videos I guess. But we are still building. I designed the place to be built in three phases, and we just started phase two this last summer and are still working on it. Problem was that the land around us kept going up for sale and we kept spending our money on new land 😉 I look forward to catching up here!

I wonder if there are indian tribes that were in that area?? It kinda looks like one of the ones i've seen up here in missouri that they say are indian marker tree used to point the way to water or something else of interest...maybe you will find some arrow heads or something cool like that? Good luck i can't wait to see your updates✌🏽️😃

We have not found an RV just yet. With so many on the market, it seems it shouldn't take much longer. Our biggest challenge is finding the time to go look. We both work.
Why do,people leave there places like that,with a lot of work the house could look good it’s big.,your going to have to get a couple of big dogs for protection or warning if there is a bear around

That's a good question but really depends on the condition of the materials as things are dismantled. We love to recycle and reuse.
