      @@darrelwilson Thanks! I'm about to use paypal subscription option but thought I'd look into stripe also. This was helpful. Question. The way it works is the promo link to sign up for the monthly membership subscription. They go to the processor, make their payment. Then they need to be directed to a specific page once the payment is made. Not the front website, but a specific URL.
      Most people go about it as registering the membership first but I want them to buy the membership first and then they get the registration link.
      Is that doable with stripe and if so do you have another video covering how that works or is implemented?
      Also, do I have to manually do invoices for all the members every time it's due or does stripe just charge them until they cancel through stripe? If they cancel through stripe, what happens? Do I get notified of the cancellation? Is there any option with stripe to cc another email for cancellations? For example, Joe signs up and later cancels. Is it doable that stripe sends me the cancellation info about Joe but I can also have a notice sent to a second email?
      Thanks!

    Hello Darrel, you create a lot of awesome videos and you have truly helped me tremendously over the years. I have a question about SAAS platforms and wanted to know if you have any videos about how to collect tax info from users to report to irs? I notice on platforms that I am a user on, they ask for tax id. Even on platforms like paypal, square, vagaro, styleseat etc. Any info on how to implement this on my own SAAS?

      @darrelwilson  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey! Thanks I’m glad my videos have been helpful!
      To collect tax info like Tax IDs for reporting, you’ll need to integrate a tax compliance feature into your SaaS. Look into APIs like TaxJar or Avalara, which simplify tax collection and reporting. Adding a form to collect user tax details during onboarding or payouts is also essential. Is there a way to send a payment link that's recurring but only for a certain number of months? I couldn't figure out how to do that. I only could choose an end date when I was enrolling an existing customer in a subscription. So I'd need them to pay for the first month with a regular payment link and then as a separate step enroll them in an autocharge monthly subscription for 4 months.

    • @darrelwilson
      @darrelwilson  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey! Yes, you can set up a recurring payment link in Stripe with a specific number of billing cycles. When creating the subscription plan, you can set it to end automatically after 4 months. This avoids needing a separate manual step. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below!

    I'm trying to create a payment link that allows subscription - even though they pay, only charge on the certain day of the month. Can I achieve this with re-occuring payment link option or still need to setup subscription. Second question is, if I don't have existing customers yet, can i still create a subscription? Thanks a lot!

    • @darrelwilson
      @darrelwilson  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! To charge on a specific day of the month, you'll need to set up a subscription in Stripe, as the recurring payment link won’t allow for delayed charges. As for your second question, yes, you can still create a subscription even without existing customers. The subscription will activate once someone subscribes.

    • @darrelwilson
      @darrelwilson  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! For the subscription button, it might be related to a specific plugin or feature on your dashboard. Regarding sending invoices every month on a specific day, you can set up the recurring billing cycle in Stripe's settings. You may need a plugin or tool that integrates with Stripe to automate the sending of invoices on the desired day each month. If you're using a platform like WooCommerce or another subscription system, there should be an option to configure this under recurring payment settings. Let me know if that clears it up!

    • @darrelwilson
      @darrelwilson  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hey! To manage upgrades or downgrades between your Standard and Premium digital products without double charging, you can use Stripe's proration feature. This will ensure that when a customer switches plans, they’re only charged for the difference based on the time remaining in the billing cycle. Just make sure proration is enabled in your Stripe account settings. This way, customers are billed fairly and won't be double charged. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below.

    • @darrelwilson
      @darrelwilson  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! To efficiently manage payment statuses for a large number of customers, you can leverage Stripe's built-in reporting features. Stripe provides a detailed dashboard where you can track successful, pending, and failed payments for each billing cycle. You can export these payment statuses as CSV files for each cycle, which you can then cross-reference with your in-house management database. Additionally, setting up automated email notifications for failed payments and using webhooks can help you stay on top of any issues. This will help streamline your process and ensure accurate record-keeping.

      @darrelwilson  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! To charge all customers on the 15th of each month regardless of their checkout date, you'll need to set a "billing anchor" in Stripe. This will ensure all subscriptions align with that specific date. You can configure this by using Stripe's API or through the Stripe Dashboard by setting the billing cycle anchor to the 15th during the subscription creation process. In Stripe, you can use a combination of trial periods and minimum commitment settings to ensure that customers are billed monthly but can't cancel until the 3-month period is over. Hey! To allow your customers to unsubscribe from your services, you can set up a "Cancel Subscription" button in their account settings on your website. This button should be linked to Stripe's customer portal, where they can easily manage and cancel their subscriptions. Alternatively, you can handle cancellations manually by providing a contact form or email address for customers to request unsubscribing. Feel free to drop your questions in the comments below.
