Reichel… The top 6 looks crowded. He just doesn’t seem like a bottom 6 role suits him.
Rockford doesn’t look like an option. His trade value seems limited. What do you see happening with him???
Jack, what do you think the chances are of Kevin Korchinski starting the year in Rockford? In my opinion, there is much development to be had for him with the Ice Hogs. Most games last season he was chasing his tail around the ice like it was on fire. Sure, it was an experience, but how much actual development could have taken place in such an environment? The only way I would be comfortable with him making the team out of camp is if he was blowing everyone away in preseason and it was absolutely obvious that he’s ready for the NHL.
I think that Brossoit contract is a little too long, but if he can stay healthy, by year 100 it’s going to be the best deal in hockey.
Brossoit seems likely to be an important addition. Looking at Mrazek’s career, I think it’s unlikely he stays healthy for an entire season , and Soderblom simply isn’t ready to be an NHL goalie.

I like the pick up of Bertuzzi and Turbo but stabilizing the goaltending was important too. Adding depth will make them more entertaining this year for sure. Who knows what this team will do this year but the ride is just starting and is going to be fun!

Future mailbag question. How worried are you about the hawks missing out on a top 5 pick and not filling in another star level forward.

If the Hawks would waive that three year rule for anybody, it would be for Toews.
True, but I don't know why they would even lay out guidelines knowing he's going to be among the first to get their jersey retired.
