Hello everyone! I hope you’re staying safe and healthy during these troubling times ❤️ I just wanted to give you a heads up that this is a BONUS video for the week! There will still be a new video up tomorrow. Also, if you’re wonderful about the change of background... we are having electrical issues and don’t have power in about a quarter of our house (my filming room included). So I have to be creative for the next few weeks with where I film 😂
Can you imagine how much that impacted their life during this time? I can almost feel their excitement and I don’t know any of your students. It must of been such a comforting feeling getting a letter from you. How special. ❤️
As a student I am so happy for those students who got letters. I would love if my teachers would send me a letter. It’s so hard not seeing them and being with them. You are such a nice person to do this.
This is awesome!! Doing letters to your kiddos during this time reinforces the positive relationship you have developed with them during the year, and the letters may be the only “happy mail” they get during this time! I know your kids will love it and the parents will too!! Keep up the amazing work! I’ve got an idea for the teacher monthly challenge for when you are back in school (write a letter each day to a staff member - similar to you writing a letter to your students)
I started using your daily schedule and it has helped me EMENSELY to not "overwork" myself during this time. You have really been my savior during all of this. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much!!!
That's so awesome Michelle that you stayed in touch with your students through writing letters. What I really liked is how you used your printer to address the envelopes that's so cool I really want to try that out whenever I send mail out any envelopes. This kinda of reminds me of back in the day in the 80s and 90s writing actual letter was how people stay connected before there was internet and all that we have today.Hope you guys are staying safe
I’m 15 and I have always wanted to teach. I come from a family of teachers and you have really inspired me to teach. Everytime I watch your videos, I get inspired and more excited to teach. You really are making a difference!
What a terrific idea! You are so thoughtful. During our Easter Break I delivered little Easter Baskets to my students. The excitement on their face was so heartwarming. I was told on Friday NY Schools are closed for the rest of the school year. My reaction was UGH! I want to see my kiddos one last time face to face before summer. Continue to stay safe and healthy.
I am writing each of my students a letter each week during this quarantine. Its a TON of work and money for stamps, but I wanted to give them something to look forward to each week! I've got 20 students and am a special education teacher. Not only is it a pick me up each week, it gives them extra practice reading and practice writing if they want to write me back!
Love it!! I sent my kiddos Happy Easter cards, but time for a letter like this.. thanks for your hard work Michelle!! I used this idea & just printed out 5 and are ready for tomorrow.. thanks again!!!
Hi there, Michelle! Thank you for the inspiration! Here's an idea for a challnge: Make a fellow teacher happy! For an entire month you select a teacher (new every day) and do something cool for them/to them/with them, like dedicate a story on Instagram, record a video and send them, ask your studemts to do something pleasant for them, present them with a gift card or send a parcel... I'm sure you will have more amazing ideas!
You inspired me to do the same thing. I wrote letters to all my kiddos. One of them emailed me to say thank you. Another one held up the note on camera so I could see it. 💕 I wish you well for May, working only contract hours. I would struggle with it. Lol. You can do it!
I knew your kids would love the letters! I am so excited for your next challenge. Only working contract hours is something I would like to be able to do. Can’t wait to see the results in your next video!
I have been mailing postcards to students. You're absolutely right, it does make a difference to send messages in various platforms. It's not always about the assignments, it's about the relationships.
Thank you so much for your helpful videos! I have handwritten all of my letters but this looks so much neater! I'll use your tips next time for birthday mail. 🙏
I am not a teacher but I love writing letters to friends and family also the post company have allowed us to send free postcards to anyone in Ireland which I think is super also forgot to mention I'm irish and I am a secondary school student and want to be a teacher in the future
In the past I would write my students notes and leave them on their desks for when they got to school in the morning and I really enjoyed watching their reactions. I missed doing that but with your idea I know how I can continue. Thank you so much for this great idea!!!
So I clicked on the bell a few videos ago, and this morning I saw this video! I watched it first thing. My eyes widened during the personalized envelope, EXTRA!!! I love it and your videos
Wonderful idea! Could you do a video on difficult families or how to take effective criticism when you get complaints for lessons. Or how you structure lesson plans and break down the hour e.g. discussion, video, worksheets, activity, conclude??? First year here😀
You are so sweet! My students will get their EOY packets next week. I made them candy bags and a Mother’s Day activity but didn’t think of a letter. Perfect timing-I will work on the letters today. Such a sweet idea 💡 💕
Michelle: *wears a shirt with words on it during a video* Also Michelle: *covers up most of the words with her hair, but leaves just enough uncovered to drive you crazy trying to figure out what the words are* Me: *spends the entire video staring at the shirt trying to figure out what it says* Loved this video & all of your other teacher monthly challenges, Michelle! 💕 I look forward to them every month
I always try to figure out what her shirt says too. I was stumped on this one...unitl now. LOL. Maybe she can move her hair and let us see for a moment so we can pay better attention to what she is saying, :)
I typically print mini-class photos for my students and handwrite notes for them on the back, but I hadn't taken a class photo yet. So this year, I am making collages with my first day of school photos of my students and mailing them the photos with handwritten notes on the back... I forgot to mention, I teach high school so I have over 140 students. But I know how meaningful this is going to be for the students. I'm tackling around 50 letters per weekend so that I can finish before school ends!
Thanks for the video. I love your technology tips. You have the best ideas and you explain them so clearly. For a future video I would love to see more about how you use the Adobe Apps that I always see on your laptop dock. You so do many creative things with technology and design I would love to learn more about how you incorporate them into teaching or sharing about your teaching with others,
With your tye dye background, you can use the design option, format background insert your picture and the use the opaqueness to make it not so it won’t get moved around 😊
Love this, Michelle!😍Such a great idea to write to your students, especially now during the pandemic. It’s funny this vlog came up today because I was just getting something together last night, to write to the couple of students I still need to get to come (or more often) to the on-line lessons /office hours I am providing them. Now this makes me want to write to all my students! Thank you so much for this tutorial of it all. This is so helpful and definitely can’t wait to do this too! You are such an inspiration! Stay safe and healthy, Michelle.💛🤗🥰👩🏻💻😍📩📫
a lot! of teachers are making virtual classrooms in google slides and they make a classroom and put bookshelf and on the bookshelf, they copy pictures of books and they linked a youtube video to !! try it out !!!! and you can share it in google classroom
In my district 4th grade is the oldest in the school, so my fourth graders missed the last few months of elementary school! I will be sending all of my students a graduation letter and you just saved me SO MUCH TIME by showing me how to print on en envelope. I sent all of my kiddos a Flat Teacher a few weeks ago and it took me FOREVER to write all of their addresses. Do you make the return address your house or did you put it as your school?
I love this idea! Such a great way to stay connected with students and make them feel special. Thanks for the short tutorial on creating letters on PowerPoint and printing on envelopes. What kind of printer do you use?
Thank you for doing the tutorial and showing your screen. I love when you show "how to's" dealing with technology, I've learned and picked up on a lot from you :). What printer are you using? It looks like an all in one, and I assume an HP for instant ink :).
K AA Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so happy it’s helpful for you! I’m using an HP 8710... I don’t think they make it anymore but you could probably find something similar. It does use HP Instant Ink (which I LOVE!)
+Pocketful of Primary Michelle , Do you remember in one of your old vlogs when you were teaching or attempting to teach at your old elementary school and you mentioned about your student who was autistic ? Welcome to My Days back in the 80s and 90s when I was an autistic SPED student ( specifically the early 80s ) . Here I am watching this as an autistic stay at home son at 41 wishing that I had a teacher like you who does things like this in my elementary school years . If anyone were to ask most kids who their favorite person is it would probably be a cartoon character , etc . whereas today it's their teacher and it is because you do things like this . I have no doubt in my mind that they enjoy your letters , much over that they miss you … and overall I don't blame them . You have proven that school can count for something beyond the curriculum(s) . Keep on doing what you are doing . - Dwight
This is amazing and plan to write at least 1 letter to my students. But I am curious, did you send each letter separately or how did you manage it? Love your co tent, so informative and helpful. I learned something new in this video about printing on an envelope. Thank you . ☺️
Oh my gosh! This is soooo cute!!!!!! If I ever have something like this ever happen again, in my first few years of teaching starting from 2024, I will totally do this! 😻 Oh, I like your new end screen! ❤️Aaron
Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for this tutorial and I hope you make many more in the future! You inspired me to write letters for my own students. When I printed out the envelope however, there was a black box around my bimoji. Do you know how to get rid of this? I tried to research it but wasn’t able to figure it out. Thanks for the help!
Oh, by the way, I don’t know if you can be able do this, if you could take pictures of part of your new and current room at your school and then stand in front of the green screen and do a classroom tour from your home! I’ve only seen snip and bits on your instagram!
Thanks for all of your videos. I always learn something new. I wanted to know if the whole letter thing can be done on google slide and if so, which one do you prefer using.
Kaitlyn Shuler UpgradED is no longer operating because one of our business partners dropped out. But, Bridget and I have formed Teaching on the Double and put out free weekly podcasts with tons of tips and tricks for teachers!

Chelsea Mauldin LOL! I didn’t even think of that! 😂 It says “#results” 👍🏼 It’s a shirt I designed for my podcast with Bridget (Teaching to the TOP)!
Lol I kept trying to figure out the word through the whole video. Now that I know what it says, I can rewatch the video and focus.
#myADHD
I always try to figure out what her shirt says too. I was stumped on this one...unitl now. LOL. Maybe she can move her hair and let us see for a moment so we can pay better attention to what she is saying, :)
Ha-ha! I'm glad I wasn't the only one! I had to scroll through the comments to see if anyone else asked and if they got an answer! ;)
I guessed that it said results but wasn't 100% sure!
Hi Michelle i hope your doing good during this horrible times
Love the idea! Great tutorial layout.
I love your channel ❤️❤️❤️
I learned so much about PowerPoint from this video!! Can you do a whole video on PPT tips??

Hi Michelle! Where can I get the AGBoss Lady Font? Thanks =)

Hi I love your vids and I am 9 your the best
First of all I love your videos!
I am curious why you use PowerPoint instead of Word.
Emily Carson PowerPoint allows so much more flexibility with the formatting than Word. Have you ever tried to move a picture on Word and it wouldn’t go exactly where you wanted it to? PowerPoint will allow you to put it EXACTLY where you want it 👍🏼
Awesome Idea!😊😊😊
Pocketful of Primary Awesome! Thanks!
Can you do this on Google Slides as well or just PowerPoint?
Daniel Jones Yes, absolutely!
Hi Michelle! What kind of printer/ink do you use?
Megan Byers I use an HP 8710 with HP Instant Ink 👍🏼
@@PocketfulofPrimary Awesome! Thank you for responding.
Hey where could I get that photo?
I am not sure why you use PowerPoint and not Word
nessabirdie PowerPoint gives you a lot more flexibility with formatting than Word! I never understood it until I made the switch and now I never use Word for anything 😂
What a fun challenge! We aren’t allowed to mail anything to our students 😢
Lea Lou Aww, that’s so sad! You could try sending emails to their parents but addressing it to them ❤️
Thank You for your Teaching style .I am too satisfy to speak in language. I suppose If I were you----
