I want to import Nopal(cactai) and agave products. This is the fruit it produces, a conserve or marmelade made from the fuit and the nopal itself which is a vegetable.
I am reforesting so I get several products which include cactus, agave, mezquite and honey.
If I bring a cargo to the US could it be small and include varied products exp: 10 crates of Tuna(nopal fruit) 10 Boxes of marmelade jars, 10 crates of nopal and 100 pounds bee honey in jars and bring them under 1 permit since I am the producer and have them all in my Mexican company?

You don’t need any license or permit for exporting to your country.Just need to find a custom broker or forwarder company who handles paper works etc etc,also if you wanna make export to your country,you need to find custom broker over there too for understanding rules and regulations about the product that you are exporting.Dude important things are

Second ,find a buyer
As long as you got these all,rest are easy ,just lay custom broker and shipper ,than earn money as long as you are selling them

Hello Eric, I want to start an Export Trading Company or be an Import/Export Merchant. I am not sure which one is the right choice for me given my goal. I want to buy electronics and ship to India. The products are all over the spectrum from small medical devices to Cameras. I have a client in India who has asked me to ship these products but I do not where to start. I have talked with US Embasy and the person who got back to me mentioned that the manufacturer would prefer and likely sell it to someone/company who has previous experience selling these products in the target nation and suggested that I get the company off the ground. Is this the case? If so how do someone new in that field start? I do not have previous knowledge in the area. Please help.

If you are buying directly from the manufacturer you will be given the retail price. Probably not the cost of the good

I love the way you say, "If you've identified a product you think could be a hit in another market." That's the whole crux of the problem, and you essentially pass over it. Any moron can explain how to ship things and get an export license, and so forth. The whole question is: how do you choose a product to import or export?
