    I have a Revo 3.3 and I just rebuilt the fuel tank because the engine wasn’t priming. Currently it still won’t prime but cranks fine and I just had the engine running not long ago. Tried everything but can’t find an answer and I need help. Knowing that Revos are your favorite and you’re constantly getting them, I figured you’d be my best shot! :) Thanks and have a good day!

      Aaron Harper if you pull the exhaust line off and the carb line blow through the exhaust line and see if your not clogged may be small debris in the tank ... also check you header for a good seal and check the muffler for clogging maybe try and clean it if it’s dirty!

    • @aaronharper8274
      @aaronharper8274 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      joel lofquist without the fuel line on the tank fuel would go through just fine. I cleaned the lines and the hole in the cap but it still didn’t move. I put a slightly longer exhaust line on and the spring off the cap of the tank and the fuel seems to flow better now. I had the stock tuned the carb but it was too rich and I just got it started so hopefully its good now.

    I'm a Tekin guy through and through when it comes to electronics. I've never had their esc pop on me. Over the last 10 years I've had quite a few and all are still running to this day, including a 1st gen Tekin RS that has been running a mix of 13.5T to 8.5T in 2wd sct since 2010. I've also had 3 RX8's, gen1 and 2 gen3's, all still kicking. Servos I'm not sure of, but I'm putting my money where my mouth is and running all Tekin servos in my NB48 2.0 this year. So far I like what I see in them, but we will see what happens.

    • @MarkSantaMaria
      @MarkSantaMaria  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2050 or 1900 will work just fine however gearing might just be a little different. When i first started racing ebuggy 2050 was the motor to run in my area. Neither of them are a wrong decision. I run 2050 because thats what i am comfortable with. It might be more of a mental thing.... hahaha

    Quick question. I have a rock Rey 1/10 with a castle 1415 motor in it paired with a sidewinder 4 and the thing keeps frying the wires. The motor doesn’t get hot and the esc only gets hot at the bullet connectors. Is this normal for this size motor?

    • @MarkSantaMaria

      that usually means something doesnt have good connection. When this happened to me in the past I would have to replace my battery connectors.

    I have run both hobby wing, and Tekin setups in my SCT 410.3 at my local indoor clay track. The Tekin setup has gobs of power over the Hobbywing. If you drive with a lot of finesse, you can win with the hobby wing though, because they’re both overpowered. The RX8 GEN 3 ESC is excellent. The hot wire with the phone app is great. I can’t say enough about Tekin.

      @@MarkSantaMaria Castle makes sensored motors now. They have now for a few years. I've ran Castle products in my truggies for years. Ton of power and very reliable! No issues! But, I've never ran the others.. easy for me to be bias but Castle is the way to go. I've seen other racers have issues with Hobbywing and Tekin. Just my 2 cent...

      @@boatrc6350 To be fair, I ran castle in my short course a LONG time ago. Maybe the new stuff is better. I ran a Mamba Max Pro. You really dont see many Castle Creation guys in the pits at big races.

    • @boatrc6350
      @boatrc6350 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@MarkSantaMaria yep you're right. Funny, I asked a Castle rep about that not long ago. He explained that they got out of sponsoring racers for now. He said they may reconsider down the road. The Mamba Max Pro was before me, I started with the Mamba Monster 2, then I went to the Mamba Monster X when the sensored systems came out. I do remember being told at the time that the two ESCs were vastly better than the previous models like the mamba Max Pro. I've had zero issues with the mamba Monster X so far, so I'm pleased. I actually have the power dialed down to 80% and I'm still able to come around other truggies on the straight! It would be interesting to see the big three in a shootout. Maybe that could be your next vid! :-)

    I'm still have a Gen 1 rx8 running great. Then i have 15 other Rx8's up to Gen 3. I had a few problems with 2 of them before i started applying logics and using spongy esc double side tape that Kyosho sells its like suspension for your ESC. At worst u can take case apart and run some high temp gasket maker underneath chipset . It literally is nice when u apply logics . Lot better amperage on the tekin as well and the hotwire settings are nice to have with tekin. That motor literally hates that it has a hobby wing pushing it.

    After way to much money spent over the years i find that for 1/8 off road racing, orion and tekin are king for motors, as for esc, i have found hobbywing, tekin, and lrp are best in that order in my opinion. Orion has a great esc as well but i dont include it as they arent worth the money. Ill add that i got a gen 3 rx8 esc about 8 months ago and its been doing great, waaay better then the past Gen's.

    Mark I’m moving back to Canada from Belize and I’m looking for the new Losi Baha Rey 2.0 and I’m having a hard time finding a place to purchase however your collection has me looking at Traxxas. A recommendation on a traxxas stadium truck that is around the same size would be greatly appreciated.
    Love watching your videos

    Really appreciate this video. There is actually nothing out there like this one currently and this helps. I would like to hear a deeper breakdown of your thoughts. Basically you have one price point and one scale (1/8th) that you had an opinion on. I am really curious what your opinion for 1/10th scale would be, and what you would recommend at various price points. You look like you have lots of experience (judging by your garage lol). So I would like your take on 1/10th scale as well. But hey, maybe you don't even use 1/10th I don't know. Still, I really appreciate the info. I was into this hobby couple decades ago and just got back into it! Loving it so far. Wanting to spend more but I need info like this before I pull the trigger so I'm not disappointed with my rig. Thank you again!

    Good day RC friends, does anyone know why I use 3s with this hobbywing 2200kv combo and an XR8PRO ESC
    Are the batteries lasting 3 minutes? My batteries are 8000mah 80c 3s
    but they last 3 minutes or less. Is the ESC being protected from something? The motor says in the manual that it is 2 to 6s.
    and the ESC from 2 to 4s
    But with 3s batteries I have not been able to make the batteries last more than 3 minutes. if someone could help me😢

    You said “obviously not running Castle”. What’s the reason. I just bought a Castle combo but didn’t really do research on others. Is there something wrong with Castle?

      Yeah, I'm wondering that too. Been using Castle for 10 years with no issues.

    I gotta disagree Mark, I love HW 1/10 ESCs but their 1/8 Scale speedos feel like they have absolutely zero torque off the line/getting out of corners... I ended up swapping out the xr8 sct in my sct410.3 for an xr10 pro 160a G2! It's a totally different truck now. I highly recommend you try out that combo! Not to mention, HW has been amazing to me in the CS department: they've warrentied stuff that was past warranty, and given me both free replacements and 50% off a new replacement in different situations. I've never had the run around from them..

    Great video! Are you still using the Tekin 2050kv? The most common I've seen is 1900kv (for 1/8 scale buggy) down here in South Florida. I was wondering why it's your preferred kv. Guessing you run on bigger tracks maybe? I'm just getting back into the game after 10 years lol! I'm wanting to try your combo of HW and Tekin but guys down here are telling me to go with a 1900kv. Thumbs up and subbed bro! Congrats on the 50k+ subs! Lol I have a channel too for the last couple of years. Mainly for quadcopter fpv but dang, I'm just barely past 600 subs. It's a hard road I know so I'm glad to see someone succeed! Especially a fellow pinoy!

    Ok fellas, ive got plenty of bashers, ive never owned a nice 4wd buggy and i want to step into one..we have a nice track setup in my back yard..i dont race but it gets pretty competitive at my track with at least 25 to 30 guys at any given time..we run just about everything...my question is what motor setup for a buggy that wont be officially raced so no restrictions..i just want a bad mofo...and im sure alot of the guys that run my track will follow suit..

    Great way to stay neutral while describing Tekin and HobbyWing (while giving a ‘wink’ to Tekin). 👍

    Ive found the total opposite.. Tekin customer service sucks and hobbywing has actually been good. I havent used tekin in 6 plus years though. But every time ive returned a hobbywing product i havent had any problems.. I did like Tekins gen 3 escs.. it lasted a year and a half.. longer than any other tekin esc ive had over the years.. Also another thing ive found is the new xr8 hobbywing escs including the sct xr8 doesnt work with any other motor than hobbywing. A few people had power problems with a few different motors and then put a hobbywing motor in and magic it had full power.. Something about their new sensor system in the 1/8 xr8 stuff. Literally the best esc ive ever used for e buggy besides the reedy stuff was the old hobbywing sct pro. $80 and you could use ANY motor. That thing would last for yeeeaaarrss and was smooth. Just my experience

    In Dubai you get fined if you leave without a valid reason(300 dollar fine), only three people per car otherwise another fine(700 dollars) and you have to go out with a mask. Plus there's a curfew from 8pm to 6am

    Unfortunately, I've also bad bad...VERY BAD...experiences with HW customer/tech support. They so so friggin' arrogant, acting as if they know everything, and you know nothing. I even had one call where the person hung up on me. He had asked a question, and, while I was in the middle of answering it, he interrupted me (which I don't like), and asked me something else, which I quickly answered. Then, he asked me the previous question again, and, while attempting to answer it a second time, he interrupted me again. When he asked the question a third time, I told him, "If you'd quite interrupting me, I'd be able to answer. You've already asked me twice, and both times I was in the middle of answering, when you interrupted me." His response was to simply say, "Fine"...then, he hung up on me. Since also getting into crawlers, I've been running Castle ESCs (Mamba X), and CC's customer/tech support is OUTSTANDING.

    Hobbywing customer service is the worst dude lol. Blew a brand new elite g2 160a in my cal 3 yz2 the first race I used it and they told me to kick rocks basically. Only time I seen one go up and it was probably just a bad one of the bunch so I’ll continue to run the xr10 pro elite till another company that makes one that works better if that ever even happens
