I’ve learned soooo much valuable information and new tactics to execute much more effective parenting. It has really been so mind shifting. Thank you for that. I’ve added these techniques and tools to my toolbox. Although we may not have a book labeled ‘child hand book.” We do have an instructional book that provides instruction, advice and principles to live by. And in this book there is a plethora of resources to pull from on how to raise healthy children. I know an unpopular opinion now a days, but the Bible is created by the creator who created us humans, such as a mechanic is the creator of a robot or engine and they would know how that piece of machinery works best. Well likewise, the creator knows how we work best, and how thankful we are given this original resource material to pull from to help us raise healthy children and adults.

I used this repair method with my two year old, and he may understand or not but I did this when I was having a hard time and I noticed his attitude he’d been having the last few weeks

I absolutely love Dr Becky's theories. I do however, have a hard time believing it's not my fault if my kid is unruly because I haven't disciplined them. Not that we have to blame and shame ourselves forever, but truly, it's not the child's fault either. It really is the parent's fault. We could forgive and repair, but we also have to take responsibility, So therefore it is the parent's fault

I have a very serious question. What if my son is nuerodivergent and the person he is hitting, kicking, pinching, spitting at, throwing things at is me the parent? How in God's name do you approach expressing to him that how he feels is okay, it's valid, but I won't let you hurt me, while you're doing your best to keep yourself regulated because of trauma I have around my body being mistreated. While at the same time needing to actively defend myself from him hurting me while trying not to completely disengage and ignore him because I am not okay with being treated that way! I am at such a loss right now. I don't know how to approach it and I am doing my best, I know he is deeply feeling, I am as well. I don't know how to truly set those boundaries, while making it so he has a regulated adult in the same room, when at times it seems like the best option is to completely remove myself from the situation. He is beyond persistent, follows me and continues to try and fight me! I say what I am feeling outloud, I stomp and like put my hands down by my sides in fists to show him what he can do instead. I truly feel at a loss and after so many years of this and him fighting me every single day, I don't know what to do. Please help..I an trying my best..

Very strange to listen to as a european, like parenting 50 years ago, when the kids got punished. Hitting has been illegal for decades 😮
