Shayda I love and admire your honesty - if you don't like the way something turns out you're willing to say so, instead of pretending it's all ok. It shows your genuineness and integrity and I'm so glad you persevere until you're happy - the results are beautiful 😊🤩
Hi! I just wanted to say that I love your videos this is one of my most favorite art channels because it’s very fun and open/welcome! Thank you for always helping me out with my art and making me very happy when I’m sad!
I love watercolour landscapes with pine trees, but some how I fail to get the “perfectly imperfect” look of the pine trees. 😅 I am sure, tomorrow I will try these out. 😊 I love how realistic the fern turned out, also the last part brought magic to the egg and the feather. Thank you so much for the beautiful content we receive every week. The answer to the question: I do try and continue with the painting even if I make a mess. I try to create something different from the mistake out of my imagination.I learned this skill from you. 😊 Thank you for the skill.
I have the same problem with getting trees like that to look natural! Our mind has this tendency to do things in a pattern, so as a beginner I still have a tough time fighting that tendency to do a repetitive pattern in the trees.
your paintings never failed to amaze me everytime and im always eager to watch your videos even if i've watched it several times already. waiting for your new videos is already my habit and you're the reason why i decided to make watercolor painting as my medium. watching you paint, listening to your words of motivation drives me to pursue watercolor painting even more. hoping to win the palette for me to start. ❤️
Shayda, I had lived all my life thinking that painting is not for me. Others in my extended family could, but I had no talent for it. I have loved watercolor for years and years, saving the images on the net on computers and now on pinterest. In my 40's I quietly bought some paints and brushes. And one day I painted the roses/flowers you showed. I was moved beyond words that this is something I can do. Thank you for filling my life with beauty and art. ❤️
Really love this tutorial! My son's 1st birthday is coming up and we're doing a woodland theme so this is perfect for some pieces I want to do for his special day. I've gained so much confidence in my watercolor painting recently - so thank you!
I know I’m not Shayda but I have painted with a lot of watercolor and have found the trick to be to not have too much water on the paper or have it too wet when trying to make a crisp line. Also, having extra pigment and less water on the brush can help to create a strong and precise line. Hope this helps!
New videos and a fresh cup of tea is quickly becoming my favourite activity when life needs to slow down a bit. Thank you for always explaining everything so well!
I can not wait for these fires to be over in Cali, so that I can enjoy the outdoors... This video was much needed. Thank you for the inspiration shayda!
Thank you for showing your mistakes and your how you turn them into something beautiful. I love the reminder that even advanced artists like yourself make mistakes and that it's natural and part of the process.
I’m a brand new “artist” just finished my fifth painting today. “Painting” seems too lofty a word for what I’m doing, but I’m really enjoying myself! Thank you so much for your instruction. I would love to try my hand with a better grade of paints! ❤️
Nature and art help me to cope with the sadness and strife in my country right now (USA), so having both together is good medicine. Thank you, Shayda. [I have to admit, though, that the mushrooms also started to make me hungry. ;-)] I've been learning a lot from your channel, and building confidence with my own creative process, too. I'm glad you're here.
Watching this every night. It’s very satisfying and it made me want to start painting tho I’m only using materials that are less than 5 dollars, it’s still really relaxing. Thank you for this
I’d like to enter to win the giveaway 🌻 (side note: you taught me how to use watercolors and now every time I paint I hear say “drag the belly of the brush”, lol. So thnx)
Heyy shayda.... can we have a rapunzel flower hair water colour paintings... or any disney characters hair with flowers and all plzz.... n yess...I am in love with u r channel.....hope for the best....
While in quaratine, I used the time to rediscover hobbies I used to enjoy. Painting is one of those hobbies. Your tutorials are wonderfully constructed and have been very helpful to me as I have been relearning.
Been following you for a while and love your work. Woodsy is perfect theme for today as my community is plagued by forest fires and so many have lost everything. It’s heartbreaking and scary. Glad I can watch your upbeat video and try to think of something happy. Thank you.
I loved the acorns the most 😍 so cute and so beautiful 🥺 You are so amazing and dedicated at what you do! Thankyou for inspiring all the people out there. Bless you ❤️
We have a gorgeous woods near us that we only ever walk around in the autumn. Not sure why we don't visit the rest of the year, but going there signifies the change in season for us, and we love going there searching for fungi and enjoying the quiet. We had our first walk of the year there this last weekend. 🍂Autumn is maybe my favourite season. Your paintings are beautiful, and capture it perfectly x
Love, love, love your paintings! I teach 9th grade and we use your videos to learn to watercolor!! They all know you by first name and love watching these videos😀..one student asked about fall items to paint..can’t wait to share this with them!! Keep up the beautiful work!!!
I love your videos and live sessions. They are so didactic and inspiring !!!! You make the painting process so simple that we can lose a little fear of producing art. In this pandemic moment, this is very important for our mental health. Gratitude for sharing your work and your artistic gift with all of us.
thank you @Shayda for this beautiful tutorial, it actually brings woodland in your sketch book, no matter how many times you open it, it brings smile on your face... it will also inspire me constantly reminding me of my fream life on hills.... 🎄🎨
Honestly though, your videos gave me a clear idea of how to paint with watercolours when I was drowning and overwhelmed with other videos. Thank you for that!
I am a newbie with watercolors. My grandmother, who used to teach painting (mostly oil) to kids, tried to teach me, but at that time, I was just not feeling it. I've always been more of a pencil or ink sketch artist. However, with the pandemic and all, I decided that I needed a new outlet to destress, thus watercolors have been introduced into my life. On a normal day, I grow loads of flowers and plants, however, our growing season is short. I think watercolor paintings are a great way to preserve the beauty of nature before it dies. I really appreciate the very detailed and comprehensive tutorials you share. To be honest, my favorite part is that you are humble when you share about your mistakes and that you also show how you fixed them, because again, as a newbie, I'm going to make quite a few. I enjoy your creativity and since you like suggestions for your next video, how about some gems like crystals and so on. It'd be cool if you could mix it up with some botanical details. Anyway, thank you so much for the opportunity to win a watercolor set. I'm sure the winner will make quite a good use out of it, following your videos and tips. New follower, and love the blog.
Woodland theme is lovely. All the items are wonderful. Can't decide which is my favorite! Thank you for teaching us how to achieve great results. It's nice that you have a giveaway, thank you 😊
Thank you so much for your tutorial. We live 1 1/2 hours from Yosemite National Park and Sequoia National Park as well. So I appreciate your beautiful inspirational paintings. Reminds me of our beautiful backyard national parks.
What you said about making mistakes and working with them is so important. I was terrified of making mistakes at first but slowly as I got more comfortable with watercolor I learned there's no wrong way to do it! I try to work with what I have and make it look good. The color of the flower is gorgeous!!
Such effortless brush strokes: probably reflect practice 💞 Watching the video is soothing & it itches me to paint; beautiful and educational. Thank you Shayda 🌲🍄🧚🏽♀️🧚🏽♂️🍂🍁🌿
I gave up art, painting and drawing years ago to focus on my work. But your videos have motivated me to get back into it. I have ordered some supplies and I can't wait to follow your tips. Thank you for providing such good quality videos !

Love this group of images! Watercolor almost always has a “soft” look to it, and that is its charm and what I like. I find it to be the easiest.
yes, there is too much harsh Comicish colour nowadays, watercolour is more dreamy and calming
I love your watercolors! You inspired me to show the seniors that I work with at a nursing home how to watercolor. We love watching your videos.
