After watching The Crown Season 4. I began to understand his side now. Can't blame him though. He got jealous of her, obviously bcoz instead of him receiving attention and appreciation from the people, Diana got it instead. I think that's the reason why he's even more distant from her and chose Camilla instead coz Camilla compliments him, cheer him up and he received the kind of attention and pat in the back that he's always been looking for. But yeah, he should've stayed Diana's side and stopped communicating with Camilla no matter what. People didnt liked him even more.
I think it's more complicated than that. It feels that way because he got his happy ended and she had such a tragic end. If she had lived and married Dodi and been happy we would feel different. They were just forced together and were not compatible, they tried but it wasn't to be.
They honestly look so happy, like Princess Diana is laughing and Prince Charles is looking at her with a smile. It’s so hard not to believe that they’ve never been happy.
