How Silver wins: Do whatever he needs to do to get rid of Shuckle, then clear hazards (rocks in particular), then Ho-Oh gets a KO any time it switches in.
I was gutted when Karen was knocked out, but I'm happy that my number two choice has won the losers bracket! Still, I'm nervous. I want Busy to get crushed, and I'm not sure Silver can do it. Still, he stands a better chance of doing it than Karen, her whole team gets bodied by bugs. Seriously though, I hope Bugsy's team gets their wings ripped off or crunched by a particularly heavy boot.

Well, this is a tough one. Ho-Oh won't do much damage with either Sacred Fire or Earthquake, but most of Clair's team would be absolutely crippled by burns. I'm not sure what Ho-Oh's last move is, but Brave Bird could do a lot of damage, and Recover/Roost could help it stay in the game long enough to get those crucial burns before retreating to regenerate. I think Ho-Oh will do well, but not be as dominating as against Morty or Karen. Weavile is also a big threat to Clair's team, but as we saw in her matches with both Pryce and Karen, she's more than capable of working her way around one Weavile, thanks to all those Yache Berries. The lead Pokemon are going to be particularly important in this match. Is Clair going to lead with Garchomp to get those crucial rocks up, or Charizard to head off a Weavile lead? Will Silver go with Weavile, or predict Charizard coming in first and use Feraligatr? Eliminating Garchomp early is very important for Silver, both because of his vulnerability to Stealth Rocks and because it's the obvious switch-in if Magnezone is threatening Gyarados. Outrage is probably going to be the most dangerous move in Clair's arsenal for Silver, as he doesn't have much to switch into it. This is going to be an intense, close match. If Silver is able to substitute one of his Pokemon for Crobat in the Grand Finals, then I want him to win, but if he can't or won't, then I want Clair to take this, as her team possesses good odds of beating Bugsy, only losing the first time because he out-predicted her. Edit: Another awesome battle! Silver really used Ho-Oh's ability to inflict burns and regenerate to the fullest extent, and also benefited a lot from luck with the former, but preventing Garchomp from getting Stealth Rocks up was probably his best tactic--Clair would have had a better chance of winning if she had sacrificed Garchomp to Magnezone in order to get the rocks up, as it ended up being Weavile's victim in the endgame. (Yes, I know that Ho-Oh has Defog, but wasting even one of Ho-Oh's turns would have been a big boon to Clair, given how many burns it inflicted, how frequently it switched out, and how often it went below half HP.) Silver, take my advice before the Grand Finals--bring in that Crobat!

This has come up many times before: Gold/Ethan doesn't have a canon team, because he never appears as an NPC you can battle. Of course, if it was up to me, I'd have stretched things a bit and given him the evolved versions of the Pokemon he mentions having in Heartgold/Soulsilver if you play as Lyra (Azumarill, Tauros, Venusaur, Tangrowth, and one of Porygon's later forms), along with his Typhlosion from Masters.
We all know silver shouldn't be allowed to have Ho-Oh. His team is by definition, built to beat the gyms. He doesn't need any help making his team viable.
Normally Silver would win with ease vs. Bugsy. But he just doesn't have the right movesets against him. So I don't really see a point in a rematch here.
