Making a knife from saw blade

Did you temper it at 400g/200c after quenching?
I tried this with a bricksaw blade only to discover the blade had a brass core after cutting the knife shape out. Something to be aware of.
Did you put it in the oven after heat treating it?

I have heard that sawblades needs to be heat treated to make the blade softer do it wont brake so easy
