      For stamping on non-reflective steel I like to scribe a line at the 'bottom' of where I want to stamp. It seems so simple, but often I'll 'wing it' and it's all over the place. Just having that scribed line, or wax pencil, or silver pencil as a frame of reference helps me so much. When I do this, I tilt the stamp away from me and try to land the bottom on the edge of the line.

      Cold metal is harder, but I've never seen a real need to do this before projects. I will say this: I never leave my blanks or anvil in my car overnight in cold seasons when I am packed for vendor events and craft fairs. I always leave my metal and anvil in the warm house. :)

    After seeing ur video I went and bought a bunch of the bracelets off the link u listed...I have used aluminum before and have the EZ bending bar but realized It most likely wouldn’t be strong enough to bend the stainless steel bracelets 😭I was wondering how u bend them...And if there is a way I can bend them with items most people already have at home..I have a strong husband with many tools so I’m trying to find a way to bend this bracelet I just made..

  • @jalakshah2748

    Hi, I use stainless steel blanks and my hammer is 200gms, it barely leaves an impression. Is it the hammer? I make sure to hit the hammer to the stamp multiple times and barely anything! I usually use a fiber cloth under the disc that I’m stamping. What do I do differently?☹️

    • @acemarie3017
      @acemarie3017 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m trying to figure out these little problems too.😅 I’ve noticed that my stamps seem to be a lot nicer when I place my stamping block on concrete; when my block is on carpet I get shadow stamps & various issues. Maybe you need a harder surface to stamp on. The fabric might be too soft.🤷🏼‍♀️

    Stephanie, your having autofocus issues. If you can try using a Canon. hey have the best Auto focus in the game. This is why so many TH-camrs use them since they have to shoot while being the subject at the same time. Lover your vid. What did you use as the black to fill the stamp impressions.
    EDIT: just saw the bloopers. You're on a phone! you have no chance.Get a camera. Honestly. You have good content and I am shocked that you have less than 100k subs. Get a camera, you're worth it.

    • @FontFixation
      @FontFixation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gus! Thanks for your feedback! Shortly after my last video I realized what I was doing wrong; my Canon E50 was set to auto and not video. That was making it have autofocusing issues! When I switched back to video and set to 4k, and then set to focus on my face, I ended up doing much, much better with the auto focus problems! I use my phone to do the close up stamping because I don't have a set up to get my camera the best angle at my anvil.... But we'll get there, I promise! Stick with us! You'll see!!
      I use Gilder's Paste to color in the letters, but I also have a video on coloring in that shows that Sharpie Paint Pens hold up to wear and tear and life better than Gilder's paste :)

      @@FontFixation I am going to be stamping stainless steel bolt heads with an emblem for a custom built car. So I will probably be using Gilders Paste just because sharpie markers for that will seem a little cheap, even though it probably works just as well. Thanks for your reply, I will email you with what the end results looks like once I am done.

    • @FontFixation
      @FontFixation  ปีที่แล้ว

      @nahidfaisal there could be several reasons why your impressions are not coming out. Your stamping space needs to be solid -- please watch my video, "Stainless steel? I'd hit that... AGAIN"
      You may have a sand bag or something under your anvil preventing the impression.
      Your mallet may not be stainless steel, or may not weigh enough to compensate for your hammer strike/swing.
      It could be you aren't hammering hard enough.
      Watch that video I just recommended and see if that helps!
