I just moved in on the water basically and I live up the bank from the bridge in the condos and I’m going to fish there for the first time this weekend so I needed this video thanks
@@midsouthoutdoors7321 I've never fished that area, but I know there's another boat launch near it. Your video got me interested in trying the Mississippi. Would be great to find a spot near home that doesn't have a lot of fishing pressure.
@@williamburditt4390 i drove past that spot to see if that boat ramp was open. They have been locking the gate to that one. Not sure why. They have a pay ramp on the other end of the island though. Fishing is good unless the river is falling too fast.
Yes, it is a good river to fish in, but I wouldn’t keep the fish to eat because of the pollution. You will hear that it doesn’t and that it does matter, but personally, I would just play it safe and not eat them.
This early in the year, you'll want to stick with crank baits with white, green, or chrome colors. You could also try a worm or fluke. People catfish from the bank down there a lot. You could always do that was well. The main thing is river level. It needs to be steady and not falling. It is scheduled to stay at 17 feet for the next week. That is good.

Good Luck!
Have you fished where the wolf river empties into the Mississippi?
No but I drove past it yesterday and saw a guy fishing there. I assume there are big cats in there?

Could you link the bait that you were using? You say that neon green, is it a crank bait or?

Nice fishing. Do you not eat the bass?
I love to eat bass. My freezer can only hold so much so most of them I throw back. I keep more than enough to cook a batch anytime.

How do I get to that ramp
Cross over the Mud Island bridge and turn left around the round about. Pull through the gate into Mud Island park and keep to the left.
