I Was security when they built the pyramid!! It was awesome just to be a part of that!! Long before bass pro shop and I went to some concert in this building also!!
The pyramid was built in 1991. It closed in 2007 The bass pro shop owner said he would buy it if he caught a massive catfish by the pyramid and then luckily, he caught one, so he turned it into a bass pro shop in 2015

The Ericson Group proposdf a $250 million entertainment, hotel and restaurant development for the Pyramid and its surrounding area as well as future developments on Mud Island. But Memphis paid Bass Pro Shop millions to buy it and turn it into a store. Don't get me wrong! It's a great store and I love it but it pissed off a lot of tax payers. If you visit stay safe! Memphis is spending money like mad to try to bring the tourist back instead of solving the crime problem that ran the tourists off. Many tourists visit and have no idea that Memphis is one of the most dangerous cities in the US.
Riding the elevator…. I got sick at my stomach while the recording of bill dance was playing on the ride telling of how high it is up… I’m not necessarily afraid of heights… but that elevator ride was something else!! 😮
