  • In this installment of the "How To" Series, Vinton Pacetti of 187 Killer Pads shows us how to properly fit your 187 safety gear.
    Pro Knee Pads:
The bulkiest and most durable of the knee pads. These are open back and have velcro straps on the back to quickly put on and take off your pads without having to take off your shoes, they have about twice the padding as the Fly knee, and have removable/replaceable hard caps.
After checking the sizing guide, place the pad over your knee and latch the velcro straps. Make sure the straps are aligned for a proper fit. Next, thread the bottom strap through the buckle and tighten it down so that it is snug. This bottom strap is the knee pads anchor point so make sure its tight, but not too tight to cut off circulation. Loosely attach the final top velcro strap, in order to keep movement in the upper leg.
    Fly Knee Pads:
This is a slim slip on knee pad with closed back and a grommeted on cap.
After removing your shoes, slip your feet through the sleeve cap-down, twisting the cap around to the front as you pull it up to your knee. Next, thread the bottom strap through the buckle and tighten it down so that it is snug. This bottom strap is the knee pads anchor point so make sure its tight, but not too tight to cut off circulation. Loosely attach the final top velcro strap in order to keep movement in the upper leg.
    187 Fly Elbow Pad:
Killer Pad's best seller! This is an extremely comfortable elbow pad with no stitching rubbing against your arm, allowing you to completely forget it's there. The pad slips over your arm and the straps comfortably tighten down the pad. Remember not to over tighten, you want it just snug enough so that it won't slip down.
    187 Pro Skate Helmet:
A comfortable, low-sitting, soft foam ABS shell helmet. After checking the sizing chart, make sure the helmet sits comfortably and snuggly on your head. A proper fit will allow you to lean your head upside down and unbuckled without it slipping off, but remember to always buckle your helmet.

Yeah I measured according to the chart and the elbows pads are very tight. Waiting for the knee pads still so hopefully they are a good fit. Quality product without a doubt.

3.24 you exactly demonstrate what every downhill boarder will feel after some time. u can pull down a fully locked elbowpad like a sock thats 12 sizes to big...
had alot of crashes and most of the time, the elbowpad kinda help with the first impact, but over all it just pulled itself down within seconds and you see yourself shredding over the ground... most downhill folks works with their gloves to catch the crash anyway, but if u ever rreally rely on those things, they will req u :D

if there is a gap (like i can feel space) between my knee itself and the pad, like my knee cap, is that safe?
