      @@unsaidoath pressuring Alex so he's on the backfoot is how you beat him. People over hype the leg kicks in the first fight. They were successful but I felt like jiri was handling them very well especially outside the first round. He did land a couple of good shots of his own on Alex but overextended and got hit ( in my opinion was a bit early stoppage especially for a fighter like jiri)

    • @unsaidoath
      @unsaidoath 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@LunaticKing-fj3hp yes when he had Alex backing up he had success. But he also got caught when Alex was backed up. Leg kicks definitely played a part and would have severely affected if the fight went the distance. Yes I agree bad stoppage. Also I’m not a hater I want a banger fight, but Jiri has no defence and I think Alex might catch him even earlier this time. I hope Jiri wrestles more

AND Jiri's attempted standing up after...😢😢 Alex is a scary, deadly powerful dude.

  • @Smorccc
    @Smorccc 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    Not sure if agree that Jiri is better off in the later rounds. In the Glover fight his head movement slows down a lot in the champ rounds and Glover was hitting him a lot. Not sure if it`s humanly possible to survive that poatan left hand even if he`s tired, plus he has much better cardio than he did in middleweight. Then you factor in the leg kicks reducing Jiri`s power punching, and ability to drive for takedowns and it looks bad IMO. I think Jiri needs the early takedowns to really wear Pereira down or finish him TKO or Submission.
    That being said... I will NEVER bet against Jiri. I`m putting some cash down on Jiri getting it, but I don`t expect to have that money at the end of the night xD

    Jiri must grapple more early on, or he will get KO'd. Simply put, come back to this for anyone doubting Alex. People assume a two-division kickboxing champ will lose a striking war with somebody who fights with a severe lack of defense. Yes, anything could happen, but being logical, Jiri will get KO'd. Alex has also already fought Jiri and is likely used to his unorthodox movement.

  • @hedon5028
    @hedon5028 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    I think you're wrong that he suddenly figured out Alex, especially when he only has two weeks to prepare. You don't learn to check those calf kicks in just two weeks or learn to defend the angles of those dangerous left hooks. On the other hand Alex has improved his takedown defense and his ground game since he fought Jiri. Also, Alex took way less damage in their last fight than Jiri. Thirdly, Jiri's hands is almost always down leaving him open for a dangerous knockout artist like Alex.

    I was worried for Pereira’s fight with Jamahal given Hill’s power and Hill’s striking defense stats. But even in a fight with someone like hill who doesn’t lose stand up fights, he showed levels in the stand up, Jiri has 2 possibilities to win, finding a big right hand, or possibly maybe getting Alex down and Submitting him, otherwise, Alex outclasses him, Jiri’s recklessness works against everyone else but not against someone with Alex’s technical striking and composure

  • @TheSummerwine1

    Pereiras leg kicks really do put his opponents in emergency mode. It makes them get reckless and rush in trying to dissuade Pereira from throwing them. But he already knows it, and that is usually where he shines. It's probably why all of his fights don't go to the 5th round, because those leg kicks cause urgency in his opponents, and Pereira capitalizes on the mistakes in that urgency.

      @@user-ol7fv8fx5v That's absolute nonsense.
      Jiri is not a grappler, and at this stage Alex is simply at a higher level of grappling than Jiri, Alex can take Jiri down, Jiri can't. Jiri would just exhaust himself again.
      As for changing his stance to be more relaxed on his lead foot..... That would change too many things, can't just magically learn it at such short notice, nor would it be enough.

      @@MartialArtsNk why you think Poatan is better grappler? Jirka was able to control poatan on the ground pretty successfully in the 1st fight, I’d absolutely like Alex to be a better grappler than Jiri, but honestly I don’t believe it. I’m for Poatan with all my limbs, but I think if jiri decided to play it dirty and bring some ground game it might be decision loss for Poatan
      I do agree that changing the stance can affect many things, you’re right. But Jirka has nothing left but to do though. You cannot move well when your leg is getting brutalized like that since the very beginning. Jirka doesn’t have a choice but to fix that if he wants to win.
      I absolutely like both of these men, but Jirka does need to make adjustments to win this. Bro you def never watched Alex Pereira's fight. Against Bruno, Adesanya, Blachowicz, Sean Strickland... All those fights Alex Pereira at some point was being pushed back against the fence. A lot of Alex Pereira sparring partner like Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva and etc they all say that Alex makes you think you're hitting him clean so he can counter and knock you out. It's very similar to Anderson Silva strategy back then.

    • @Brando_MMA
      @Brando_MMA  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're right, all those guys did have Pereira on the back foot. Bruno Silva just isn't high level, Adesanya KO'd him and had him rocked bad in their first fight (and Pereira ultimately won that fight by putting Adesanya against the cage) Blachowicz fight was at altitude and after a round of grappling, both were much more gassed than usual going into round 2 and 3. Sean Strickland did walk down Pereira, but Strickland has very little power in his hands and Pereira didn't have to fear a KO shot from him.
      Jiri has a great chin, big power and wild unorthodox strikes that can catch you off guard. He has a much different style than all the guys you named. He will keep walking forward and throwing everything with power. If it gets into the later rounds with the pace Jiri can set, It can get scary for Alex. After all the only time we've seen him go into rounds 4 & 5 in the UFC was against Israel Adesanya, where the pace was pretty slow in that fight. Nothing like Jiri sets in his fights. So it could get interesting, that's really my point here. Not even saying I think Jiri will win, I still may pick Alex. But if it goes into rounds 4 and 5 and Jiri is still marching him down with constant volume and power shots I could see him getting it done.
