Yes Sir a little goes a Long Way. Today was a put away day with off fall pieces and Clean-up. Getting Ready tomorrow to Split Wood up and make room for more Rounds on Friday. I have a Left Finger that is Sore from Yesterday's Cutting, the Saw Kicked Back Hit my Chainsaw Saw Resistant Glove, but Jammed my Finger in the Wood. Now I have to get New Gloves they Worked great. Safety is what goes with doing Wood. You Cheeted the Ash is Frozen, only Kidding. You Guys stay Safe out there that means you Russ, Kevin,and Gramps. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
Thats awesome! I have a little hand splitting addiction, you might call it...i do it almost daily🙄 i made well over 100 facecords this past year. 90% hand split. I have a box store splitter, but i only bring out for the gnarly stuff once a month or so, and its not nearly as satisfying, or fast, lol. You're right about reading the wood. Its one of those activities, that the more you do it, the better and more efficient you become at it. Also if you go at it intensively, its an amazing workout. Im in my late 40s and feel better than i have in years! Thanks for the cool content 😎 i learn alot by watching you guys as well as several of the other firewood channels!
@WilleysFirewood yes it is! Most people don't understand unless they've done it, haha. Love the fiskars too! I walk out to the pile with 2 Fiskars axes everyday. X27 and a X21. I honestly use the smaller one most of the time. Super lightweight and fast! But they both have their place. Thanks for the reply.

We use to split everything by hand when we started! I still think about getting the axe out sometimes and then I say nah!😂 Ash in Maine sure splits easier than here in Illinois. You would have been still pounding on the second piece here when you got all of those done😂 Good stuff Russ and Kevin👊🏻

Is it just a standard muscle wood or do you have it souped up? I guess in other words what extra additions over a stock muscle wood did you order it with?
I would’ve done the same thing but mostly I’m cutting 16 to 20 inch so 20 inch would be just fine and dandy. I’m down here in South Arkansas. I have a 35 show from Wolf Ridge.

Question is that a Stanley Rachit? I have a Stanley socket set. With pretty much the same style Rachit And other tools. But I'm not gonna Name them because The message Message would be too long. I'm pretty sure they make other style ratchets In that style.
Oh, just you wait in a DIY video. On my parents' channel, i will be going live in the next few weeks on how to put a Rotary Engine back together. That should be fun 😁 👍
Have been hand splitting all my wood (7 cords) for 40 yrs. You would find it better I believe to put the piece you are splitting on top of another. Much easier to spit and should use a pulp hook to move the pieces. Just a thought.
Yeah I often will use a tire to keep it from tipping over if I'm really trying to be fussy with it. The pulp hook or a pickeroon is a great idea though
Personally I think your nuts splitting by hand, I'd take the week off till the new splitter arrives, still gave you a thumbs up though, It's like giving you an "A" for effort!
40 below ⬇️ is best weather for splitting firewood 🪵. Frost in the wood 🪵 it’s cracked a lot easier with a good 👍 splitting axe 🪓 from LEE VALLEY 😊. CHECK with Phil he might rent out OLD BUSTER from Allen family firewood 🪵 yard . 😊

Kevin is a good guy, and he's always got my back! Sometimes being in a hurry makes things take much longer.

@ went with a shorter 20" stroke to speed it up even more. The rest'is based off standard features for the new Musclewood
