    With 2 blocks across and 3 blocks down plus sashing and borders it would be the perfect size that my quilt guild makes for children we donate quilts to. I would just use colorful colors for the kids and cute prints for the 4-1/2” blocks.

    • @MrsGraphiteGal
      @MrsGraphiteGal ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they already have a tutorial on the carpenters star using HST's. The problem with that is it alters the proportions.
      A true carpenters star is made using Y-seams so if you're not a fan, the other way might be better.

    This is a very unique quilt. It looks like a lot of work, but I guess not with the way you do it. I might change the Mr. Mustard color to Mr. Mint...like your iron. Cactus colors might be interesting, too, because that's what the blocks look like. Thanks!

    What a fun quilt! Your block is so much more interesting than the original solid color block. Seems to me you could make this whole block using the two-at-a-time no waste flying geese blocks, 16 geese per block, plus some squares and rectangles of the background.

    • @MrsGraphiteGal
      @MrsGraphiteGal ปีที่แล้ว

      4 at a time is even faster. 5 1/4" square from background, 4 small squares from the accent, 2 7/8" . Much easier.

      I agree, it felt rushed, but having watched so many of MSQC's videos, I could follow her instructions. Newbies might have more difficulty. However, as fast as Jenny went, it still used over 25 minutes of my monthly data -- very worth it in the end, but seeing 25 on the timer made me hesitate to click on it this month. Do absolutely love the pattern! And I'm the odd duck who would actually do at least one block by hand, just for the retro experience! 😺💕🐾

I want to make it with the Robert Kaufman PINK LEMONADE layer cake! I have been loving that fabric for so long, and WHAT would I make with it? This is the perfect pattern!
