I have worked at an optician for years, and I have removed logos from lenses many times using a cotton swab soaked in Sinol. It doesn’t damage the lens or leave any stains or marks. Sinol is commonly used in optics to remove tougher stains from lenses or frames that cannot be cleaned with soap or similar products. Sinol is a brand name in Finland for fuel used in spirit burners and for cleaning sticky stains. It consists mostly of ethanol, along with three other ingredients. It is denatured alcohol or methylated spirits. I’m not sure what the equivalent brand name would be in the US. I found Klean-Strip and Sunnyside. Maybe they are the same or similar.
After I got a color analysis last year I accidentally stumbled into my style as well. I had previously discovered that for me, the key to decluttering is to get started making decisions so I play this game where I take everything out of my closet and say, ‘okay, if I choose one thing to get rid of, I can pick two to keep’. I always seem to have a couple of things I know I’m getting rid of in the next purge, and it’s kind of enlightening to see which things I pick first to keep. And, bonus, after a few of those choices it gets easier decide whether to keep or purge something. The difference this time was that I’d bought a rolling rack and added the stipulation that I wanted to start with getting rid of items that weren’t in my palette and prioritize keeping ones that were. I also did this exercise while thinking about specific occasions/reasons to get dressed (like a big professional event, a work party, a baby shower, an outdoor activity, etc) in each season. I got about halfway into this and realized my style had emerged. I kept picking floral tops to discard and picking up breton stripes to keep. I’d get rid of olive green cargo shorts to keep black chinos. I’d get rid of lace tops to keep linen. I kept going back to this one navy dress with different accessories. And since I was assembling this on a rolling rack, I could start to see these patterns in good light and if I was tempted to keep a floral peasant blouse, I thought twice about it because it so obviously didn’t go with the first 30 things I’d chosen to keep. And I’d realize I would eventually wear that top in the summer because it was cool and I didn’t have enough cool tops to pick from (absurd, because I live in Texas- we have five months of summer). I found I have a pretty preppy style. I’m set in cold and mild weather, but I had major hot weather gap, an utter lack of decent bags, and a serious shoe deficiency that was the source of half my ‘nothing to wear’ moans.
I love how your style emerged Jennifer. I hope many more people read your comment and try it out. We could all do with being a bit more intentional with our style. Thanks for sharing ☺️💕
Thanks Sarah, that was really interesting. I rarely use Pinterest, so your knowledge and suggestions in how to use it correctly is very welcome. PS. I happen to like your nail polish!
Your videos are always so great! Thank you for teaching us all! As a winter project, I've started making beaded jewelry sets in the different seasonal color pallets to give to my friends, and I realized that nearly everything I've learned about color analysis is because of you!
I know my colors and my body shape. You have inspired me to revisit things I put into a Pintrest board and use my 3 words to refine and re-evaluate my style goals for 2025. (Still working on losing 10 lbs and this might empower me to feel good about myself along the way.)
Happy new year to you as well. When in doubt, maybe ask an optrician. They normally clean glasses, at least they do here. My key words would now be comfortable, confident, practical.
Happy New Year, Sarah! I followed allot of these tips in 2024, spent allot less than the year before and I'm really getting towards a wardrobe that reflects who I am. I have a ways to go but I am much more mindful of what I'm buying! Thanks for another great video!!
@@americafirst9144 No unfortunately it's not a sticker. Good idea about going to the shop. It's a good distance from me which is a nuisance but I guess I can put up with it for a while. Thank you! :)
Thanks to decluttering a lot, I wear at least half of my wardrobe. So at least that's more than 20%! I like very elegant and chic styles. Unfortunately most shoes make my feet hurt and I have to limit my shoes to foot-shaped shoes with no heel which are often not super stylish. And I'm worried about the environment so I have been trying to only buy clothes secondhand, which makes shopping a slow process. I also have olive skin and I feel like EVERY color looks bad on me? And because of my olive skin, I am nervous that my colors won't fall under any system at all...
80% of my wardrobe is second-hand, according to Whering I'm wearing 64% of my wardrobe (I need to get alterations on some items; for the rest it's former evening gowns/bridesmaids items or clutches with no more occasions to wear it). I'm a fair cool olive and I favour elegant style and comfort for shoes. I like leather derbies, and rather low ankle-high boots, it's ideal with my feet issues. I wear kitten heels and flat sandals during summer. Don't worry too much: I'm a proof you can achieve a cohesive wardrobe with all those criteria and guess what? Outside a gain of weight, I usually keep my clothes for years and years before the fabric crumbles... I usually pick burgundy, navy, deep taupes, champagne, soft white, pine green and black as my basics. Purples, berries, chartreuse/lime and fuschia are my bold colours. The pros with 2nd hand is that you can easily experiment with coloured inexpensive cotton tank tops or T-shirt. You don't even need to buy while experiencing: you can rant your clothes with some subscriptions or you can exchange clothes with friends like I did during my College years. It's by buying T-shirts on Vinted I figured out my boyfriend was a bright spring: those vivid crayolas hues were huge in the 90's and very hard to find nowadays except for the sportswear. If you like browns and warm colours, 70's items might be a hit, and if you enjoy pastels, 60's would be a delight.
@@lapislazulis2378 I love that you are a thoughtful shopper! Every purchase should be well thought through both for our own satisfaction and the environment. The only way to find out your colour palette for sure is to have a consultation with someone experienced and confident! Get in touch.
A very Happy New Year! 💐 I think you should return the glasses. It's too much of a risk to ruin them and you can't wear them as they are (bad for your eyes if nothing else). There's so much fabulous eyewear. My style: Eclectic; colourful; expressive. On Pinterest those words don't translate to my style (unless I dress like a clown) so I use words like 'edgy' 'vintage' 'tough' 'complex' 'beatnik' 'mod' - followed by 'style' to search. It's fun. I also have many 'Bright Spring' palettes on a board because all the systems seem to differ. I'm always trying to tune-in to 'my' season. I'm still searching for BS neutrals and how to recognise them since I'm not always in the mood for saturated hues. So many BS palettes seem to have no browns or olives but 10 shades of corral or turquoises. I'm sure I look OK in brown or light olives if not too muddy (but maybe I'm kidding myself). We are all work in progress! BTW, love your nails, rings and your dramatic/sleek-with-edge style.
Oh thank you so much. It sounds like you know what to put into Pinterest to get the right images! It’s so good once you figure it out. I do like the glasses but will try to get into the shop where I bought them for some advice 💕☺️
@@sarahryanthestylecoachI wonder if they are demo lenses and would have been replaced if you had prescription lenses placed in the frames? Definitely check back with the store you got them from. I would be concerned with acetone on lenses to remove because it may cause a frosting of the lens that would ruin it depending on what treatments were done to the glass at the factory.
Happy New Year Sarah! I love watching your videos..from my kitchen table in Germany. I have a question. How do I find clothes for my long lines, ethereal but are practical and not too boho. I’m 60 and a soft summer. On Pinterest, the pins I find are a little….extreme. (Okay, my husband is a Lord of the Rings fan but me walking around Lidl dressed like Galadriel might be a bit too much for him too!)

Amazing, thank you so much for letting me know this. I will look for something similar in Ireland. Thanks for sharing!

My 3 words are cool (colours and vibe), easy (easy wear and easy care), & contemporary (no nanna vibes) with a boho modifier ;o)
Love that! Thanks for sharing! ☺️💕
Hmm, some specific key words for me would probably be floral, monochrome, curvy, bold. Nothing fussy or delicate.
Nice! It’s great to refine your style and let that guide you in creating a wardrobe you love and that feels like you! ☺️💕
For those frame brands on lenses, a product called Markaway ~or~ if you have it, lighter fluid will also work.
Thank you! Lighter fluid sounds scary but I will look out for markaway ☺️💕
Omg where did you get the jumpsuit pleeeease?
It’s fab isn’t it! It’s from Reiss, maybe 2021 I think ☺️
I saw Ray Ban, Gucci and other high end sunglasses at Ross the other day.
Any tips on removing the logo? ☺️
I take it it isn't just a sticker. I would take them to an eye center and get their input. Or call Ray Ban. I agree, logos can be annoying. Good luck.

Why you don’t tale the glasses to the optician and make them remove the script?
Good idea. I thought maybe they wouldn’t because I didn’t buy them there 💕☺️
@sarahryanthestylecoach Here in Germany they make such things for free, even when you didn't buy anything;)
@@sestricaanutka Thank you! I will try!
Wow with that logo- that’s ridiculous of ray ban. You should contact them
I know right? It’s so big and obvious ☺️💕
New Year's is okay but the time between now and Valentine's Day is my least favorite time of the year.
I’m sorry to hear that Mary. The dark days and terrible weather doesn’t help. Is it like that where you are?
An optometrist’s office might be able to help with your glasses.
Thank you! I’m gonna try that ☺️💕

The nail polish comment lol ... Why are people like that 🤦♀️
I know right? I think people forget that there are real people reading their comments. It’s not the worst one I’ve got to be fair 🤷🏻♀️
