This is just great, and as a shooter for the last 35 years I can most relate to the whole "Shabang!" phenomenon. I was on a shoot two weeks ago and one of the subjects, a rather quiet and shy elderly lady, upon hearing that she needed to be in the video for the company, waved me off and said, "Oh, no, no, no, not me." An hour later I had her practically dancing in front of the camera and couldn't shut her up. She even remarked to me later how much fun she'd had. And the key? Infectious, friendly, encouraging, enthusiasm. And my go-to word has always been a shouted "Splendiferous!" (I have no idea what it means but it makes my clients smile and relax.) I may adopt "Shebang!" (with proper credit, of course), if just for its percussive nature, LOL. Great stuff, Peter Hurley!
Oh Peter, Oh Peter, Oh Peter Hurley. This has been like a fresh warm stream over my head just before going off to shoot some headshots for a poet. Great tips and wonderful enthusiasm. Great charisma - LOVED your tips. Thanks I am definitely coming back....for more.
I don't have earphones at work and I rather not turn on my speakers, so I watched this with CC on and oh man -- I can feel your excitement. I have to take headshots for the company and since it's not a large company, they're counting on me. Great tips and I'll execute them the best I can! Thanks so much
Great information! I'm about to shoot my own headshots for a variety of projects, so this time I have some confidence that I can get at least one decent shot...or perhaps even a "shaBANG". Thank you!
I like this except some folks have to be seated for their headshots, like wheelchair users, so it's important to consider how to get great shots while seated too.
Are you a headshot photographer? Tell us your tips in the comments!
Best headshot tip. Play music in the background.
@@popcornparam Great tip!

As an architecture photographer it takes all my willpower to avoid giving off Lurch from the Addams Family vibes when shooting headshots

Great suggestion, we will consider for a follow up video.
