I was stubborn and stuck with veganism for 3 loooooong years - I found NO enjoyment from it, craved red meat, I found it extremely hard, and did not feel healthy. And I have always eaten very healthily, so it wasn't because I was eating junk food. I don't know how anyone thrives a on vegan diet, unless they have a nutritionist and a professional chef in their home

9:05 I’ve been plant based 10 yrs vegan 2-3 I honestly have never had any problems with my health I am physically fit and very strong.. I believe every race has different physiology.. indigenous people I believe should be plant based.. some people are carbon based some are sulfur based.. I don’t know why this isn’t talked about more.. we are all not the same

I am not sure why he viciously attacks a plant based diet while plenty of people around the world are doing well, maybe not in his terms! For example the seventh day Adventists who already have the information that being presented as a new discovery for a good 150 years. For example what he just shared about sexual habits how too much of it could deplete the energy of the mental faculties. One thing he seems to forget is also, aren’t the animals getting their nourishment from plants? Why not get it directly as opposed to getting it second hand? I much rather go with Dr GUNDRY’s approach. Besides he is humble despite all his knowledge and expertise. Dave seems to cocky and arrogant

The farmer manuer things is true. Society isnt completely halted though. Its more like a nuisance for some people sometimes. Regardles of my opinion on the matter. More farmers on the road are needed for more impact and less for more vegans. At this moment farmers are present sometimes but life continues. The grocery stores get less well stocked in the produce section but it doesnt seem to bother many people.

Interesting take on veganism. I was vegan for 2 years and it was the weakest I have ever felt physically but it did allow me to recaliberate my body in a way. I think after 2+ decades of eating junk and overly processed crap, it was necessary for me to get back to basics. I am no longer vegan and eat high quality protein sources. I feel physically A LOT stronger but I do believe nutrition is as unique as each of us. There is no one size fits all. I think we can all agree that overly processed crap can't be good for our bodies but nutrition for thriving in our bodies, physically, mentally and spiritually is unique for each of us and figuring that out is a part of our journey since it can change with our body overtime.

What Cows' natural diet consists mainly? Plants right? Do cow's eat animal meat? So, if grassfed cow is so good for us, that means cow's diet is so good. Cow has a great source of protein, good fats, iron, and etc. So, we should eat plants too? lol so many debate what is best, vegan or animal meat. Btw, I eat vegetables, animal meat and fish. I'm just confused, that's all.... :)

Shawn, I have been listening to your podcast now for several years and your content has been truly life changing. However it disappoints me so much that you will give anti vegan views a platform and have had multiple guests on your show being extremely derogatory and un-nuanced about plant-based diets, ranting about “soy boys”, down playing the environmental impact and disregarding the cruelty behind animal based foods.
Please remain true to your commitment and values by having on a guest that challenges these views. I am yet to come across an episode of yours that explores veganism, both the health side, the environmental side (and therefore global public health) as well as the moral and ethical implications of adopting this lifestyle.
That way listeners will be able to form more nuanced and balanced decisions about the diets that is right for them.

I agree with you. He presents nothing but his own biased opinions- nothing backed by actual science. He’s ignorant and condescending. I’d rather listen to real experts with real educational backgrounds. Very disappointing that Shaun continues to support the anti-vegan propaganda and enables misinformation and hate on his platform. There are millions of people around the world who choose to be vegan or plant based for many different reasons, including ethical, spiritual and cultural reasons, and many of them are thriving. This guy comes across as a privileged white man who thinks he knows best, based on his own biased opinions. Ugh.

I still think we should be careful with the thoughts on polyphenols as we still don't fully understand there purpose in human health. Do they fight with us and inporve longevity or cause cellular stress is uncertain. Polyphenols help the plant survive by protection of the uv rays of the sun and insects. Resverotrol has been a fail attempt around the 2010 Era when we though this compound will be a miracle but when we looked closer with "crispr" technology, depending on the dose, has shown cellular stress. So it would seem that polyphenol are inherently a poison.
