- What if Diddy Kong Racing's (And Ds) cast were spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?? Here are some fan made spirit battles with the cast of my favorite N64 racing game!
Btw Tiny is only a support spirit in the game, so I made Tiny Krystal instead...kinda fits cause of how tall Tiny is now.
Here are all battle's info:
Norfair (Hot Top Volcano)
- Incineroar as Timber
- Pichu as Tipsy
Everyone starts off with rocket belts...which are suppose to be plains. Bullet Bills and Warp Stars appear here to represent high speed plains and Launch Stars represent plain boost pads.
Submit (Everfrost Peak)
- Duck Hunt as Banjo-Kazooie
- Inkling as Conker
Conker starts off with a Super Scope to represent the guns he now uses in his series, Launch Stars also appear here since Everfrost Peak is mainly a plane stage.
Pirate Ship (Cresent Island)
- Squirtle as Tiptup
- Lucario as Bumber
Just a normal battle with a lot of Mario Kart related items on, Uniras are suppose to be floating mine items in Diddy Kong Racing.
Luigi's Mansion (Haunted Woods)
- King K. Rool as Krunch
- Falco as Drumbstick
Just a normal battle with a lot of Mario Kart related items on as well, Steel Divers are suppose to be the mistle items in Diddy Kong Racing.
Port Drive Aero Drive (Star City)
- Pacman as T.T.
- Bowser as Taj
Pacman starts off with a bunny hood, to represent T.T.'s fast speed in the game. Speed related items also appear here like the bunny hood, bullet bills and timers.
Kongo Falls (Meandering Mount)
- Diddy Kong as Dixie Kong
- Zero Suit Samus as Tiny Kong
Bananas, banana guns and containers / barrels appear here to represent the DK jungle.
Final Destination (Wizpig Final Battle)
- Wizpig as Ganondorf
HP battle. Ganondorf has the run dash ability to represent Wizpig's running in his first boss race. Bullet Bills and Hocotate Bombs appear here to represent planes and Wizpig's rocket ship respectively.
No music was modding into the game, the music was done with video editing.

T.T. is a character in" Diddy Kong Racing." He's a lobby secretary in the Adventure Mode. He also appears in Time Trial Mode. If you beat him in every track, you unlock him. He is extremely fast. To the point he is extremely overpowered.
As a kid, I never unlocked him. He was way too hard. I never even beat him once as a kid. I know people might not agree with me, but in my opinion, he was a Canary Mary from Banjo-Tooie on steroids.
Back in the day, T.T. appeared with Mario in an old Club Nintendo comic. And Rare hasn't completely forgotten about T.T.. In "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts 'N' Bolts," there is a character named "Trophy Thomas," nicknamed "T.T.." He also has a passion of records of time like T.T. in Diddy Kong Racing.
My favorite character in Diddy Kong Racing isn't Banjo, it's T.T., which is why I made a custom amiibo of him.
Let's take a look at the amiibo now!
Well, in Ancient Lake, he was impossible to beat with Pipsy thanks to her low top speed. Knowing that top speed was a factor in beating T.T., I beat him in Ancient Lake as Drumstick if I recall correctly.

Brings a tear to my eye.... This is EXACTLY what Sakurai wanted the fans to be able to do with Spirits.... Beautiful.
Its funny, now we have two members of this game's cast as fully fledged playable characters, once Banjo-Kazooie's DLC pack comes out.
Pity it is they’ve never used Diddy Kong Racing music in Smash Bros. before.

Sean Bird The Donkey Kong franchise is Nintendo Property, why else does Diddy’s hat have a Nintendo Logo on it? They already used a fair amount of Music and Creations from Donkey Kong games developed by Rare in Smash Bros. games anyway, barely any move used by the DK Characters (so far anyway) is even based off a DK game not developed by Rare (stuff that should be used outside Smash Bros. at some point in the future is the way King K Rool runs and the way he attacks with his belly that’s actually armour).
If ever Dixie become a Smash Bros. Fighter she should totally make use of firing gum ball pellets, of which be something brought up after Rare’s days with the franchise.
Everyone in the Character Select menu should’ve been blasted by Galeem before abruptly cutting to 0:17

I really enjoyed recreating Donkey Kong 64's final battle as spirit battles for one of my previous videos, so I decided to make another but with Diddy Kong Racing's cast now. All battle info can be found in the description.
This is a fun idea. Maybe this could be a new series where you take characters that aren't spirits and do a few 'what ifs'
If you're looking for suggestions, How about the rest of the Pokemon that never made it as Spirits?

Alex Molina93 No she does not, Diddy’s Pink Palette Swap says otherwise. Palette Swap’s for Smash Bros Fighters are basically based off characters not already playable. Once Dixie does get her chance as a playable fighter they can change up Diddy’s Pink Palette Swap to accompany it.

This is honestly great. An idea I have is for you to recreate enemies and bosses from SMRPG, such as the Axem Rangers and Croco. You also just earned a subscription from me. I love this kind of thing, man.

I can see modders have a field day with spirits, with how (id assume) easy they are to make and their functionality, combined with the more add-on nature of them, i can see a lot of spirit mods happening, id honestly hack my switch for that reason but... Nintendo ninjas
@@verydom Yeah. I would honestly hack my Switch for the sole purpose of getting new Spirits (and music) in SSBU, but, as you said, Nintendo ninjas are a threat to the modding community. I'll just wait until the modders figure out a way to hack a Switch with no drawbacks.
Can't wait for mods to come out. Imagine how much chaos an all support Spirit battle would be.
Dude!!! This is such a cool idea!! Everyone is here hahaha I really want to try this once I get the the game (hopefully for Christmas). Could you try this with Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy III for the SNES? Those were my childhood, and I'll definitely take your approach into account when I recreate my spirit battles!

Stuff like this make me wish there was such thing as a Spirit Battle Creator. You’d basically get to choose what battle conditions would be present, but only a limited amount for obvious reasons, and get to share them online in a fashion similar to Stage Builder. I really wanted there to be MMX Maverick battles, so imagine being able to create a battle against Storm Eagle by making it a purple Falco that favors up specials (dive bombing) with heavy wind!! The possibilities with this mode would be incredible, which is why I hope Nintendo decides to make this a thing in the next update or two.

If there's any DKR character aside from Diddy himself who could have appeared as a Spirit at the very least, it's Krunch. He's pretty much the only character I can think of that is the most likely to be owned by Nintendo instead of Rare and Microsoft, given that he's a Kremling. Although I would not be surprised if he was somehow still owned by Rare and Microsoft instead of the Big N.

Coincidentally, I thought that the idea of having any character from Diddy Kong Racing as a paid DLC fighter in Smash Ultimate would not only be a surprise, but nostalgic. The Tiny Kong Spirit features the old design by Rare, interestingly enough, and not the new Nintendo design. I wonder if that's grounds for people to think that Banjo might be coming...

What if Mortal Kombat 1 characters were spirits?
Liu Kang: Ryu
Sonya: Zero suit Samus
Sub-Zero: Ice Climbers
Scorpion: Link
Rayden: Mewtwo and Pikachu
Kano: R.O.B.
Shang Tsung: Kirby
Shao Khan: Ganondrof
Goro: Double Donkey Kong
Reptile: Yoshi with Ice Climbers and Link as helpers
Last one needs an explanation: In the original Mortal Kombat, Reptile was a secret NPC that had both the powers of Scorpion and Sub-Zero.
The conditions to fight him were ridiculus:
If at the begining of the match on the bridge you see a silouette passing before the moon ( a witch, an ufo, Superman, Mary Poppins, Dumbo, Peter Pan, The E.T. bike, Santa's Sleigh or whatever) you must finish the match without losing a round, with two flawless victories, a fatality, with at least an uppercut for round and without parring.
Reptiles also appears occasionally and briefly between the fighters before the match starts, giving cryptic messages (often written backward) on how to find him.
And this is how the trend of the secret characters started.
Scratch (Falco) and Grounder (R.O.B.) and AiAi from Super Monkey Ball (Diddy Kong) and Sgt. Calhoun from Wreck It Ralph (Zero Suit Samus) and Root Beer Tapper from Wreck It Ralph (Mario)

I was having this idea too, a What If for Spirits, sadly I can't record anything. My idea was for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts characters. Maybe you should try that sometime.
It's surprising (but also not really) that there's none of that in this game.

Do you think you could do a Spirit Battle for Feral Chaos? Basically the conditions are; Stamina Battle on the Omega Find Mii stage, the enemy is a red Ridley with 999 HP and the player has the default 120 (default for Spirit Battles). The reason for 999 is because Feral Chaos is fought at level 255 with an absurd amount of HP and the max cap for player characters is 100.
And perhaps the music of the match could be silent so you could insert custom music? Specifically Cantata Morris & God in Fire.
The nostalgia!!!! But where is the last menu from? The one for Dixie and tiny? I don’t remember that, is that from another game?

When I read the title, I immediately thought that Smash Ultimate hacking has begun
I think that custom Spirits would be cool and relatively easy to program. The downside is that to have a ''proper'' fight (not like this video's regular Smashes, but the custom rulesets, stage effects and AI behaviour) is that either you wait a lot on the board for them to appear or somebody needs to learn to modify the map of World of Light to make a spot.
And last time I checked, hacking has only resulted on editing textures and music for now.

Part of me wonders why you chose Inkling for Conker.
The weapons, I really had no clue who else to make him, Snake just seemed too realistic, plus the Inkling I used has a helmet like Conker in part of Bad Fur Day

-Enemy is giant
-You'll occasionally take damage after a while
-Reinforcements will appear after an enemy is KO'd (in this case, you'll fight the Giygas spirit after the Porky spirit is KO'd)
