if you rewatch, you'll see that Puppet actually repeated a lot of his tech, whereas Vex hardly repeated anything. he also went back to the starting positions a lot more than Vex did.

Puppet was a lot more novel in his show. Just look at the emotions of him and Vex as well as the crowd. Not to say Vex wasn't impressive as well!
