From his reintroduction of dancehall fusion to the industry and the back-to-back hit riddims, to the ability to not only pull top-tier acts together on one juggling project but also new acts like Bramma and Laden, this man is a legend who deserves his flowers while he can still smell them. When his focus shifted to higher things outside Ja, you felt the migration. You felt the impact on the sound and the shift in the culture. You felt the loss. But man, did this man form part of an exciting era which saw discourse about daggering music, Gaza vs Gully, genre-fusing...and he also aced as a recording artist himself ('Don't Cry' being my fav record of his). I have so much respect and reverence for him and the talented McGregors. Truly 'Di Genius'. Salute!
