UE5 is a beautiful pile of unoptimized crap. All it’s really missing is true optimization instead of relying on GPU fakery to keep up appearances. Although John Carmack is long gone from id Software, at least the studio largely kept the gospel of optimization in their latest evolutions of id Tech. I remember building my gaming PC in early 2020 with a RTX 2080 Super, with Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal running at 350+ FPS in ultra settings. I don’t know how they did it, but I wish Epic Games cared about this in the same way…

Optimization without a doubt.
We have not seen UE5.4 footage up to date. Pop-ins shouldnt be an issue anymore., cause everything will be rendered with nanite.
