      Alabama likely yes. Georgia maybe but they have some issues and not a lot of time to figure them out. The 2nd half looked somewhat promising, but before that they played the ugliest 6.5 quarters of football I’ve seen from them in years and have some very difficult games approaching

    • @jarock89f90
      @jarock89f90 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      How would they not be? Alabama's main weakness is their secondary thats full of freshman. So they are only going to continue to get better. Georgia went 5/5 on 4th down and any one of them not being converted ends the game. The chances of doing that are very slim. Alabama is going to continue to get better as long as they stay healthy.

      @@andynhhjmthe problem is Georgia had 4 downs every drive to convert and bama only had 3. There wasn’t a drive in the second half that Georgia had where they didn’t go for it on 4th down. In a normal game scenario they would’ve punted on every one of those drives.

    1st half curb stomped them. 2nd half UGA had to fight tooth and nail to get that first touchdown. Bama got off the field too quick and the defense didn't have time to rest. All that would have to happen in that game was for Bama to slow down and burn time. Which they didn't do at all. They walk away with a double digit win. That "poor" secondary picked off Beck (a supposed first rounder) 3 times. But Bama still has more questions than UGA? Ok I guess they'll just have to keep proving these haters wrong.

    I was in attendance Saturday night. First ever game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. I have never been in an atmosphere that loud nor have I ever been in a stadium that felt that iconic . Josh is right, it’s the best environment in college football right now. I was blown away by it, and it CLEARLY had an effect on the Georgia football team, especially Carson Beck.
    Alabama is the best team in college football. Milroe has improved significantly as a passer and runner and is deadly in this new Deboer offense. The offensive line played their best game, Ryan Williams is a generational superstar. Well deserving of the #1 ranking right now.
    Last night was a punch in the gut to all of Dawgnation. Our coach, who we all believe is the best in the nation, got outcoached by the new guy. And you have to tip your cap to Kalen Deboer. His team was energized and ready to play and he completely outschemed Kirby for the first 20 minutes of the game. Kirby has a problem with Alabama, not just Nick Saban.
    I’m proud of the way Georgia and Beck fought back. Not many teams can go down 28-0 in Bryant-Denny Stadium and have the lead with less than 3 minutes remaining in the game. But we have to clean up the first half offense. It was a problem against Clemson, Kentucky, and again last night. You can’t expect to accomplish any of your goals by not scoring first half touchdowns. Heartbroken and proud as a Dawg fan.

If they don't get complacent, they get to 37 by halftime (which could have happened if there wasn't a missed PI call) and likely way more before the game is over.

    Georgia converted so many 4th downs while Bama’s offense only had 3 downs and was playing conservative. It’s much easier to score when you’re down 30 than up 30. Also Bama only trailed for one play. That should tell you Bama had complete control over the game and UGA was never gonna win this edition of the rivalry

  • @chrisbreisch7366
    @chrisbreisch7366 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    Ok, I have been thinking about the play at the end of the Miami game all weekend. I have two thoughts, one which I have suggested many times before and will again, but one that was specific to this game. And it's not a complaint about how the rules were interpreted, but how the rules are written.
    You're telling me that if a defender who is out of bounds touches the ball, that ends the play and it's an incomplete pass? On what planet does that make sense? The defense just did something wrong and the offense gets penalized for it? That should be Illegal Touching on the defense. You can't touch the ball if you're out of bounds. That can't be allowed as a legal play. If that's really the ruling, VT should get the ball ten yards closer to the goal line and an untimed down.
    Now, as far as the overturn itself went, there's a very simple rule that the NFL, CFB, even CBB should implement on video replay. You have a time limit. And it should be pretty short. I suggest 1 minute in football and 30 seconds in basketball. If you can't make a decision in that time, then there's clearly not "conclusive evidence", and the call must stand as it was called on the field/court. I'd do that because a) it's fair, and it's b) far less disruptive to the game. We've all seen times where one team is really clicking, they have all the momentum, suddenly there's a call that goes to video and takes 5+ minutes to resolve, and once it does, all the momentum is lost.

      Let their foot off the gas so much they got outscored 34-12 and ended up falling behind. Then still had a chance to lose at the end….they didn’t let off the gas, they blew their load in the first half outside of that “f it Ryan Williams down there somewhere” throw at the end to retake the lead.
      Bama ran a bunch of stuff they hadn’t put on tape in the first half and Georgia adjusted…..what should be concerning is Georgia having 4 turnovers and being 5/5 on 4th down and almost coming back from 30-7 down to win the game in Tuscaloosa

    I’m a Bama fan but I won’t necessarily disagree with Joel’s opinion because it is his and is reasonable. However, I will counter with this. The secondary is getting better with every game. You won’t normally have a team go for and make 6 4th down conversions. That left them on the field and you saw how easy those last two touchdowns were against a tired defense. Secondly, the chemistry between this new coaching staff and team is only getting better. Milroe should still get better. Finally this new staff learned not to let up against an opponent like UGA in this conference. They learned all of that and still came out with the win. I think Bama came out looking better with a better upside.

    Of course, UGA wants another shot. Maybe they figured out what Bama was doing, maybe Bama just relaxed. DeBoer had a fantastic game plan. You saw what they did to UGA's vaunted defense in the first half. You think that just could never happen again, right? You can bet that DeBoer will have different game plan to put UGA on their heels again in the next game. Will Beck get better? Maybe a little, but he's not an inexperienced freshman. He is what he is, at this point (very good). Will Bama's very young secondary get better. I think they can get much better as they get to year-end. Bama has plenty of youngsters playing, and a whole new set of coaches, offensive and defensive systems they just starting working on this spring. They should show a good bit of improvement as they continue to come together.
