This game certainly shows, how did they somehow troll their opponents and Vince Carter just gave a nightmare on his opponents by just did a forced dunking on that French center which had been reckoned as a Dunk of Death. This team was raw af

all things considered France weren't too far off here. USA got too many offensive rebounds and second chance points and France couldn't put enough pressure offensively in those last 3 min, but they ended up fairly close here and in the final as well against Team USA.

this was a garbage US team yet it was unbeatable. it's probably why they sent an even trashier team in 2004. they wanted to know how low they could get and still win the gold.
Jason Kidd & Vince Carter are the key. Shareef & Ray Allen were unbelievable good in this tourney as well. It was also peaked Garnett played with this USA team too. If u really thought this was the weakest US team in international, then you haven't watch the 2010 and 2021 one. 2010 were majority youngster before they peaked. Instead of sending a star like the 2008 team, they sent many young gun. They didn't even called up Rondo which were shocking at the time. But Still won. 2021 USA on the other hand lost the friendly match against Nigeria & Aussie. Also lost to french in their 1st round in the group. Then they turn the table around and won gold medal after all
