When I bought my project cts, I found out the cats were empty/hollow. So everytime ill fire it up, the engine will idle rough but ill rev it to cure it and it'll cause multiple backfires then the engine breathes normally. ( back pressure issue ) and it'll back fire at like 1,700rpms but more loudly at 2,500rpm. Hopefully I'm getting it back soon.

I just did this to my cts wagon and it's a little too loud. I'm gonna purchase some borla mufflers soon and if that's not loud enough maybe replace the resonator with a high flow res. But being honest, I dont like the smells it produces without the muffler and I'm using ethanol free and full synthetic. So I'd recommend replacing whatever you take out so it doesnt smell obnoxiously

Hey! Since no one bothered to reply to your comment i will. Ok so i have the same year as your car the 2012 but just the base, mine is a 3.6l v6. First off all you need to do is go to a mechanic shop and do a muffler delete it will cost you 50-100$ Canadian or at its highest 150$ witch it would be in the 30-50$ American. Muffler deletes allow the car to breath more witch you dont lose any horse power and your car wont be bad in gas , as a matter of fact you might have a slight HP gain or no HP gain dont forget you did lose some weight so its lighter and might go a bit quicker on the start but not a lot. Now if you want your car to go "up and down like in snoop dogs music videos" you would need to by hydraulics witch are extremely expensive there sold at least more than 3 thousand also there hard to maintain. 1970borntorun If you can’t handle crime then don’t do it. I’ve done straight piped muffler deletes on my Chevy suburban and Camaro 1SS and drone isn’t anything that bothers me, most of the time I have the windows down to hear the engine roar anyways so🤷🏽♂️

If you rev it to around 2,500-3k it will pop.. Lol. And if you down shift while rolling it sounds so aggressive going from 3rd gear to 2nd. Its nice..

honestly the drone isn't that bad... you might have some on the highway but not a lot.
No complaints here.. no serious drone plus have a nice system in it so best of both worlds...
