Hey hey, I sent an email to Moleskine in the Netherlands and they told me that there was a year that used a to thin paper. He couldn't say which products it was but he hadn't had any complaints about it this year so hopefully those problems are behind them now. I thought I'd tell you in your search for the answer. Kind regards Jackie.

Jackie, very interesting, thank you so much for sharing the update with. Sadly, I never heard back from Moleskine. Thank you again for sharing with me.

I watched Seaweed Kisses and a few other videos and wondered how the pocket dailies would fair. It seems like the forestry theory doesn’t apply to the dailies which is a bummer because that’s what I want 😢 thank you for this video

You are so right, I started to notice that also. I don’t think it works for the pocket daily’s either and I was so hoping for that. But I do so love having the Moleskine pocket daily, it just feels so special.
Thanks so much for sharing with me

I don’t know what it is but there is an allure to moleskine! I don’t always use fountain pen, so it’s never been an issue for me, but also following seaweed kisses, it’s been fun just to see if we can crack the code for the paper 😂 I think there is no rhyme or reason in the end. More so if a batch has good paper of course it has similar features because it was printed and made in the same place for that batch… 😅 love the modified cover - I’m seeing more of double books now and how you can reference both, very cool!

You are so right, a definite allure to the Moleskine. So perfect that you don’t always use fountain pen makes it even better.
Also, I think you are so right again about the certain batches. Nevertheless I love and enjoy my Moleskine pocket sizes so much, fountain pen friendly or not.
I need to search around better, I haven’t found to much luck for cover ideas for the daily. I figured I should just use what I have for now.
Thanks so much for watching and sharing with me. 🥰

You are too young to remember, Peach Life, but I do remember when Moleskines first came out; they were made in Italy and had lovely paper. They were a revelation--there were no similar notebooks available back then in the USA. (Now of course there's tons to choose from!) I am ashamed to admit that I really believed the whole hype about Hemingway using them in Paris (turns out there's not a shred of proof!). But once Moleskines became successful and the company shifted production to China, the quality plummeted. Since I use mostly fountainpens, they just didn't work for me. The feathering was awful! I stopped using them and switched to Leuchtturm and Rhodia.

Hi, so I appreciate the help yesterday with the pronunciation of Kaweco, I think I had said it so many times I started confusing myself. HA! Thanks for being so great and helpful.

@@APeachLife I hope I didn't sound like some jerk correcting someone's German. I just happen to have spent much time there and can speak the language. I meant it in the most supportive, humble, loving way. Peach Life is the best!

Well, I hear you about the hype of Hemingway and also Van Gogh & Picasso was also said to have used them. The Moleskine is said to be an heir of the notebooks used by them / inspired by the heritage of notebooks of old. Darn Moleskine going to China and elsewhere, come back to Italy!!! I like the little pocket sizes and the care free nature of it, that it has bits of this along there way and the markings of different pens and pencils used to jot things down. I like the random carefree and yet special feel of carrying it around and I maybe even like it being a bit of a mess. HA, So very unlike me and I love it.
Now Rhodia paper is like heaven, a buttery soft smooth heaven. But I have never seen a nice small chunk notebook for Rhodia or Leuchtturm.

@@APeachLife For a long time I kept using Moleskine, despite the bad paper, for the simple reason that they were (are) available all over the world, and I used to travel frequently. But now Leuchtturm and Rhodia have become more easily obtainable, and they have pocket-sized notebooks as well. The paper is superior and the price in the same neighborhood. PS I too like things that are not fussy, but the ink feathering became too much, sometimes it bled right through the page!

If you mail the ceo then ask why the paper is sometimes bleed true en sometimes not. Thanks for sharing!❤

I did send Moleskine a message but sadly no response about the inconsistency of the paper. I think I need to just write a letter and I’ll probably get more of a response. Thanks so much🥰

I’m so glad to have mine but because I the specialty of the cover I find I’m super careful and don’t use it much. Plus it’s a pretty thick and firm leather cover. But so worth if you happen to find one
Thank you again for taking the time to share with me the name of the leather cover. 💛
