I will never understand builders who think it makes sense to have the master on one level and other rooms so far away. Do they build these for real families with children? It’s beautiful, not practical
@ Amber the original I have kids ages 9 to 22. While having all the bedrooms upstairs is definitively more practical with young children, you will want your space as they get older. You also have to realize if you are purchasing a home that is well over a million dollars you are not dealing with buyers with young children. People in Their late twenties early thirties are not buying $1.2 million dollar plus homes (excluding the overpriced California Hawaii and New York markets of course). Most of buying clientele for that price point is older couples with older children, hence a master on the main- after you hit 40 the cartilage in your knees is lacking and you don’t want to climb stairs my friend. My husband and I turned 50 last year and we specifically bought a home with a master on the main, it cost us $1.5 million. The other buyers we were competing with in our high end subdivision were people age 40 plus. If you are buying at such a price point you plan to be in that home for a while- you will be in your 50’s or early 60’s when you sell. You do not want to be climbing stairs
