I thought for a second this video has 300k views, not 300. A very well done video
Hahah I can only imagine that! Thanks so much I appreciate it! 🙌
My wife and I both appreciate your ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently! And not only are you a skilled speaker, but your content is timely, to-the-point, and interesting! We are new subscribers, and wish you the best of luck with your channel!
Hello and welcome to you both! Thanks so much for taking time to watch and leaving such a nice comment! Super pleased to hear you’ve enjoyed this one, I can only hope the videos keep finding people like yourselves! 😄
Love it, mate. Smashing as usual, some really helpful stuff in there. Congratulations on the new member of the family.
Thanks buddy glad you thought so! And thank you 🐶🦮 can’t wait to get him out on some photo adventures haha!
very useful, especially the section on spacing and balance. Lots to take out on the next shoot. Congrats on the new, furry family member!
Thanks David I’m patiently waiting for him to be able to go for a walk haha! Glad you found this one helpful! Cheers
I just stumbled upon your channel this morning and what a refreshing change it is from most of what I have been watching recently. I'm retired and have since rekindled my love of photography over the last couple of years. Love your no nonsense approach with stunning compositions and great tips. Now subscribed.
Thanks so much for the kind words and checking out my videos, appreciate that a lot! Awesome to hear you’re back into photography again as well, have a great rest of the day!!

I love the word "intentional"! That's it! Now I know why your photography resonates with me. Very subtle and clean, yet it speaks volume! Thanks for your videos. My photography is improving from watching what you produce.
This is one of the nicest comments I’ve ever read thank you so much! I’m glad the videos help you, and in turn the fact it does motivates me to keep making them!! I hope you have a lovely weekend!!
Love the new puppy, very cute. I think the “pointy thing” is an obelisk btw. Thank you for such clear advice.
You’re right that’s the one!! Knew it had a real name hahah! Thanks for watching and you’re very welcome!
Right, I have seen many many videos but nobody speaks about giving the moving person more space into the moving direction and not like is moving into a "wall", rule that I know for forty years, I thought this rule have been abolished! Very nice video!
So true I don’t think I have heard it mentioned on TH-cam before (I’m sure it has by somebody) but still you’d think it was more common advice!! Thanks so much I’m glad you liked the video!
Good tips!
I agree with the first one generally and instinctively go for the composition that lets a subject walk into the frame but in this example 1:19 the composition works really well as it is I think. Reason here is that the diagonal lines the shadows create - and sort of "hug" the bright part of the frame with the subject - suggest a movement to the right side of the frame anyways. Both the framing/lighting and the movement of the subject work well together.
By that I think it's a good example of know the rules and how/when to break them. Here it feels intentional and really refreshing.
That's just my 2 cents anyhow. Keep up the good work, I love your calm and straight to the point style!
Thank you! Yeah you're dead right its not a good example of being a bad example (if that makes sense hahah) - I tried to find a worse one but I must have deleted anything that was of an appropriate level of bad 😂 - I still like the shot myself as well, but also still think it would be much better if the person was heading in the other direction! - Cheers for watching I appreciate it a lot!
The moving to get the couple separated in the shot was a fresh tip, whereas I just tend to blast so many photos as they are moving through, I would end up getting a good one where the angle had changed and they weren't clumped together. With the people that had a seating dock in the way, a lot of times I am intentional and nail a good composition but sometimes my brain is not picking up on a better perspective. Thanks for the video!
Hahah I’m guilty of that sometimes too, it’s just about having these in your back pocket when you know somethings not working or you can get a better shot! Glad you found some new tips in this one, thanks for watching!!
These are all really great tips. Will definitely be deploying these techniques in the future
Glad you found them helpful man! Thanks for watching!
Solid advice ! 👍
Glad you thought so! Cheers!! 🙌
Useful tips! thanks !
My pleasure!! Thanks for watching!
Great info.
Thanks so much!!
Thanks so much, Greg! Congrats on the puppy. Being a fur dad is both rewarding and challenging...
Thanks so much Jon! It definitely brings a whole new level of ‘being a grown up’ 😂
Nice lad, nice video 🌞
Feel like you could have easily made two or three videos with all the topics you mentioned. Maybe show us your thoughts and some pov shots in the field, if you feel comfortable doing so
Thank you! Haha yeah you’re right there, I’ll probably dive deeper into each topic again in the future.
There’s loads of pov / behind the scenes photography videos on my channel already if that’s what you mean, or do you mean alongside each topic of this video??🫢
@@DISTANTMEDIA This was the first video of you i´ve seen, will definitely check out more from your channel! I thought if you would split up the video into 3 seprate topics or so, they might be a little short. And then i thought it would be interesting to see you using and explaining how you use these techniques "live" alongside the analysis of some example pictures. Hope you understand my idea :D
@@JK-qz6jl I get you!! Yeah that’s a great idea thanks for suggesting! I’ll see what I can do in the near future! (Hopefully it stops raining in England soon😂😂)
Keep going brother 👌👌
You got my back man 👌👌
If you are planing to visit Darjeeling (india) please let me know 👌 hope we will meet one day love your videos man
Thank you so much man! appreciate your comments and tuning into the videos🎉🎉! (I’ll let you know if I’m ever there hahaha!)
